I'm also doing java programming, so my advice to you is get the better spec'd models.

I bought K43SV - i7 quad, 8GB ram, a 640gb Hdd which I swopped with SSD

But the main thing is the 8GB memory.

You will not want to be doing code compilations with low ram/slow cpu, so please avoid ultrabooks like MBA which has a 4GB maximum RAM.

btw, recently i've faced a prob on the chinese words showing as square boxes on my new K43SAi7 and my fren helped me found dis link which is useful to me, so i wud like to share with anyone who face dis prob but do not know how to solve it.
I have windows 7 english version. It cannot display my Chinese - Microsoft Answers
it looks simple but its helpful enuff for an IT noob like me.

I'm on win7 home premium now. does anyone know if i still can play those old games for Window 95/98/XP?

Use compatibilty mode to run those old games.

just registered the warranty for my k43sa-i7 but the system does not reflect the 3 yrs international warranty, only the purchase date. how do i know that i'm actually given 3 yrs?

Hi all just went to ask for pro36sd in best the sales staff told me that there is an issue with the sound card. Is it true can anybody kindly acknowledge the claim. Chose this lapi due to its light weight and dedicated graphic card.
