how to fix Acmon error?

Unhappy how to fix Acmon error?

When I turn on my computer and windows starts the dialog box appeares, named ACMON Error, and in it is written : \\\"failed to prepare Critical file! Chameleon Engine is out of srevice!\\\" Btw im using Asus notebook F6V,upgrade to Windows 7.

Could you go to start>run>msconfig and look for that 'acmon' entry and see which program it comes from? It would help greatly.

anyone got Acmon error, failed to prepare critical file! Chameleon Engine out of service??

It happens on an Assus Laptop.
Anyone know what is causing this and what solutions are there?

Happened to me after the live update prompted me to update the Asus software.

Solution is uninstall the Asus splendid utility, and if you want, download from Asus website and re-install it.
