ec2303 - my 3 core modules, any advice on the difficulty of the modules? whats the grade % division? like how many % mid term, how many % final and whether got project to do or not?

ph2201 - my minor module

js1101e or se1101e - which asian studies division exposure is better? js is all mcqs rite, so is it an easy module to score?

mno1001, mkt1003 or acc1002x - which one fun to do? planning to take biz modules for my breadth.

also, i want to overload modules hor, which one shld be my 6th module (easier to bid for in round 3?) ph or js/se or mno/mkt/acc?

How is it? Is it easy to score cuz i know there is no exam for this module...

between BSP1004, BSP1005, ACC1002X, MKT1003 and MNO2311, if you were to choose 2 modules, which 2 would u choose?

I have a hunch that they change the way they set the exam questions. i took it this sem and with the advice from the people here.. and from my other friends who took it before, i went on a intense memorising spree. But no, final exam was very little memory, lots of calculation. Ended up getting a C+

I took it this semester too and it was just as crazy as the other past-year exam papers, but with more calculation though.

Well, probably different lecturers set different types of questions bah. I took MLE1101 in AY2006/2007 Sem 2, and for that sem, they ask a lot of memory work for the plastics, and a lot of concepts/calculations for the metals/alloys.

MNO1001 is supposedly one of the most fun modules in biz, if the prof is Dan McAllister. It should be him next sem.

During tutorials, we mostly play games, e.g. each team construct a structure to catch an egg thrown from 3 stories above, survivor quiz etc. But we have to do a 1-pager (mini essay) for each tutorial.

For project have to film ourselves and upload the video on Youtube - this part can be quite time consuming although everyone mostly gets ard the same marks. But in the end it was quite fun.

1 page (2 slides) cheat sheet allowed for exam, which saved my life, cos i din go for lectures or read tb/notes.

i've never taken MNO2311, but i've taken BSP1004, BSP1005A, ACC1002, MKT1003.

Personally i think BSP1004 (biz law) is one of the most interesting modules i've taken. very relevant and useful to us as well as it covers contract law, consumer protection act etc. plus i had a very good prof - ravi. basically for tut and exams, you'll be given a scenario and asked to comment what the person's rights are. sounds simple but it can get very challenging (and confusing if u dont know your stuff). for exams.. this scenario can be up to 1 page long. class/forum participation are taken very seriously by prof ravi. but if u're really bad at time management and can't write essays at all, maybe you shouldn't take this module.

BSP1005 - almost the same as A lvl micro econs with a few extra parts added in - game theory and utility. but the concepts in general are not hard to understand so even if u hav econs background its not going to give you much of an edge. nothing really much to do for this module, but it might be hard to score cos exams/midterms are not difficult.

ACC1002X is very useful IMO cos u learn to read and interpret financial statements. Not that difficult - with effort and TIME MANAGEMENT during exams you'll do well. PLus point is ACC1002X is taken by non-biz students only, so you wont be competing wif people for whom the module is their core. Maybe easier to score?

Mkt1003.. personally I don't really like the module although others have said it's pretty interesting. the project was a pain for me cos the group was pretty big (7-8). u can't choose your group members. not really fair aso in the sense that although project topics are given at the same time, groups present and submit at different times. For mine the diff btw 1st and last group was a month.

I suspect MNO2311 is like MNO1001 - alot of theory and maybe case studies. if there is no final exam, there probably are projects (case studies?) and presentations.

Therefore... based on usefulness, i would choose BSP1004 and ACC1002X.
