Digdub:

Hello. I'm from the Philippines and am seriously thinking about getting a 902. From the posts here, there is no doubt about the impressive camera capabilities. However, for the other everyday functions such as SMS(I use this function a lot), Contacts, Organizer/Tasks/Reminders/Notes, etc., will the slow UI and flimsy joystick be a deterrent to owning this phone? I recall one or two of our members here giving up on the 902 because of the slow UI and poor response of joystick. Your feedback and also those of the other members who own the 902 would be most helpful in my decision. Thank you very much in advance.

Raffles88 29-11-2006 12:21 PM

each person definition of "slow" is not the same.suggest u got to try the real set and determine yourself.

DigDub 29-11-2006 12:55 PM

the joystick is a bit sensitive at times, but with more practice is tolerable. the UI is also slower than today's phones. if you have tried the older Sony ericssons before, such as the t610/t630, its about that speed, maybe a little faster. my friend who tried my 902 said the speed ok to him though.

i love the 902 the ui doesnt take too much time and the joystick does take time to master but this phone doesnt compare to any other mobile device i have ever used

Watching movies on my 902 sure is better than my ipod video. lolx

Going to Sitex later and would test out the camera and maybe find a tripod that i could use with this phone.

{DigDub}What setting did you use mostly when taking Night mode?

I tried taking some but it looks real good only on the phone but when transfered to my computer,It appeared quite dark unlike what i saw on the phone.

I took out my M900 Martin Field screen protector,Cut it to about the same size as the Camera{lucky it is sitting on something square shaped,easy to cut} and pasted it there to protect the lens from been scratched.

I gotten my martin field's screen protector done on my screen at MobileSqaure at $16.80(they cut for me).
-They used a SE M600i screen protector for Imobile 902.

But you could also ask them to help you cut another piece for the camera by buying a larger piece of martin field's screen protector(screen and camera).
-It should costs about $24.80

Or you could just buy any cheap screen protector and cut it to fit on the camera.

Find the boss who is quite THIN,wearing spec and most of the time holding a Siemens phone.{got a friendly smile also}

He helped me Cut(even a curve for the joystick part) and applied it beautifully.
