Note 3 Handwriting Recognition mode not working

I just got my note 3 on Sunday. The phone worked great when I took home to test it. However, this morning, the handwriting recognition mode refuse to work.

I can write the word in the handwriting recognition pad and see it appear on the pad. however the samsung keyboard is not recognizing it.It doesnt work for all applications(whatsapp, S note, Internet). Typing the words on the qwerty keyboard works fine.

I have formatted and reset the phone and it is still the same.

Anyone can help me out here? thanks!

My apologies for the spelling error in the title. This is my first thread, I tried to change it after posting but it doesnt seems to work.

Yeah. very irritating.

I searched online but I think the phone is too new, hence I couldnt find any mention of it. I hope fellow samsung note 3 users here can help those that are facing this issue.

ya! exactly the same situation. Before I went to sleep it was fine.

I wonder could it be some updates or apps that we installed?

Found a solution for it. Try changing the date to another day and it worked. Seems like a programming bug, it just can't work on 30 September.

Tried it once again, as long as you changed the date and back to today's date, it will work.

thanks! hopefully it only happens on this particular date, if we need to do that regularly it is quite troublesome. Will try it later

I just tried and it isnt working for me. I am using Vulpix's suggestion for now.

What I did was, disable auto setting of date, change the date to an earlier date (eg 1 sept). Then change the date back to today.

Seems like only earlier dates work. Tried 1st Oct date and it's the same again.

Think u must point the tip to the writing screen for the pen symbol to appear and then press (using s note) to write in. Whatsapp then recognise this writing. I thought I had the prob too but I did this and it works.
