Upgraded to 3.0 via iTunes

Hi all,

I followed gizmodo instructions and managed to upgrade my iPhone 3G software to 3.0 successfully. This is a legal method. Will post the images of 3.0 later.

So far:
- I can MMS to my other Nokia phone
- View SMS and type in landscape. Even the SMS preview screen can be landscaped
- Spotlight is found on the left of the main menu, just scroll left
- Copy & Paste. This is cool!
- Take photo from SMS or use existing ones to send as MMS
- Cookies option available in Safari settings. No need to type me userID again!
- Voice Memo is cool

Upgrade yours now!!!

Does anyone here know what settings to input in the Cellular Data Network menu to allow MMS and Tethering with a Starhub Sim?

Updated with the GM as well. Seems to have retained my modified .plist for percentage battery meter from my JB.

They using the Gold Master version. "Apple Inc. used the term "golden master" for its release candidates, and the final golden master was the general availability release."

Read gizmodo instructions. You need to torrent the iphone_os_3.0_gm_seed__iphone_3g__7a341.dmg file, unzip it and load it with iTunes using the Shift-Restore (in PC) or Alt-Restore (in Mac). I upgraded with Mac because my PC can't unzip dmg file.

I think you need to torrent the 3.0 software first.

Hmmmm how is this legal if you had to download off a torrent site and 'trick' the iphone into accepting it?

anyway, read the reviews, seem nice!
