Just curious, alot of u commented tat Napalm Death's double bass are solid, i thot it should be Slayer's Dave Lombardo's double bass that is more renowned?

Well I din say Napalm Death's double bass is solid. Napalm Death's sound changed over the years but their Scum album, its was just like a madman thumping away. U have to be fast, real fast. This type of solid is its pace and Lombado's is more complex.

To be honest, both dave and danny have awesome solid double pedal chops, but its hard to say who's more solid cuz most of their songs have triggered bass drops, so everything sounds solid. If you ask me, I like chris adler's double pedalling myself. It's quite tasteful at times, and he throws in quite a bit of interesting start-stop patterns... but I'm not a huge fan of 210bpm blasts, and I don't utilize my double pedals much.. more towards linear fills and "gospel" chops kind of fill ins!

I didn't know HWZ had so many drummers/musicians!

oic, hmmm.....somehow those rocket fast drumming is not my cup of tea. But im impressed by their speed, stamina & consistency in their drumming....something tat im still working on.

me still like the kind of drumming u hear in Journey (Steve Smith) & early Queensryche songs.

Now u noe there are alot of drummers lurking around in HWZ. Welcome, welcome...

Speed is amazing for sure - the amount of hard work, practice and endurance needed is really a testament to the amount these drummers spent perfecting their craft. But fast drumming just sounds like a long fart after a while, and as amazing as it is, can never sound as good as a locked-in drummer with a really deep pocket.

Haha I'm partial to the likes of Steve Jordan myself.. minimalistic, very groovy and "in-the-pocket" kind of drumming, as well as the likes of Josh Freese, Steve Gadd etc... not forgetting all the gospel drummers, Aaron Spears, "Spanky" etc...

Will check out some of those drummers u mentioned. Ya, agreed...Nice, tasteful fill-in & grooves beats fast repetitive drumming hands down.

btw i have been busy recently "enhancing" my drum kit. Check it out below.

Added 1 more Tom to be 2nd Floor Tom & 1 more Crash Dual-Trigger Cymbal. Total 7 Cymbal Sounds, excluding Hi-Hat.
