Lenovo Y450 Wireless internet connection issues

Hey,

Any Lenovo Y450 users got issues with it wireless connection? My colleagues ( 2 of them) boguth a Y450 also and complained that they had issues with MSN (auto disconnection) and IE (failure to open page) even though internet connection was present and no problem detected by the network diagnostics.

Is there any solution to solve this issue? or how do I do a check on whether is it software/hardware/driver is causing the problem.

Appreciate your advice.

Regards

Hi there,

I myself am a Lenovo Y450 user. After reading from the internet, I found the solutions;

1. Uninstall Ready Comm software
2. Delete ALL network profiles (Network and Sharing Center -> Manage Wireless Networks -> Select Network, right click and remove)
3. Uninstall wireless network adapter (Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> WiFi -> Right click and Uninstall)
(In popup menu, Keep it unchecked - for removing the software. You need the software)
4. Run cmd as administrator and type
netsh winsock reset
5. Reboot
6. Let system install wireless driver
7. Setup your wireless connection again.

I'm going to try it out. Lets hope everything go smoothly!

My girl is having the exact same problem with her Y450!

It was working fine at my place (wireless router - no password protection)

However when she uses it back home (wireless - password protected), problems start to frequent such as auto disconnection from MSN and firefox/IE ; ironically skype is still fully functional and connected to the internet.

Tried the method b0ib0ii mentioned a month ago, still having problems although on lesser occasions.

Could it be the password enabled wireless router which is causing the problems?

same problem

similar problem, but the solution above did not fix it. the computer kicks all other computers off the network each time it logs on. They then can reconnect. It generally works ok once its on, but it cannot maintain a skype connection for more than a few seconds. Any other ideas?

Not sure if this is caused by a Windows Vista issue.
Take a look at support.microsoft.com/kb/928233
