Region Free Dvd Drive (External)

Any recommendation for external DVD drive that is region free as I will use it watch code 1 and 3 DVDs on my netbook?

optical drives do not come with region free capabilities out of box.

you will need to find the relevant firmware for features.

try at your own risk of dead drive after bad flash

try to find lite-on
they are the easier to go regionfree with just a simple software.

i also want to know is there any brand of external dvd writer can flash firmware to regional free. anyDVD is not free leh.....

use DVD43, its free and serves the same purpose as anydvd. doesn't work for BD and HDDVD though.

just to add on to vivalabam's post, DVD43 doesn't have support for 64-bit OS currently.

Supported OS includes: Microsoft Windows Vista (32), Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
