CPA Australia or CPA ICPAS (Sg)

Which is more advisable? I'm currently holding the degree in accountancy offered by RMIT (SIM). CPA au requires me to take 6 papers (3 core, 3 electives), CPA ICPAS only need to take 5 papers (but no choice).

Any kind advice will be much appreciated!

Hi, I'm keen on the MAcc offered by Curtin Singapore. Much appreciate if anyone could share on how the courses are conducted? the program is accredited by CPA Aust, what're the additional steps to attain CPA Aust status? and most imptly, it'll be fantastic if a former graduate from MAcc Curtin Singapore could share on the career prospects upon completion of this MAcc degree. Thank you.

actually to be frank if you are looking for CPA in Australia, the prestigious one is Institute of Charted Accountant in Australia alternatively, ICAEW UK is also one of the best passport to be a CPA.

exactly what im trying to pursue. chartered accountants. although each body has its own advantages, and i wouldnt go so far as to say CA is definitely > CPA.

either way, does anybody know where i should look for more info on doing CA in SG? anyone?

lol... to me is as long as u are a CPA or CA, you are a qualified accountant, more importantly is your experience and value to the organisation. not just because u are from that prestige accountancy body, u are viewed differently.

hope i hope you read what i mentioned correctly. i was the one who emphasised this "and i wouldnt go so far as to say CA is definitely > CPA." I'm saying CA is NOT better than CPA.

in fact this is what you said before:
"actually to be frank if you are looking for CPA in Australia, the prestigious one is Institute of Charted Accountant in Australia"

there case closed.

Interestingly SG isn't a part of the Alliance, and doesn't that get U a Chartered Accountant title not CPA title?

I believe you can only take CPA Aust.

ICPAS only takes those who graduate from SMU, NUS, NTU or already hold ACCA, CPA Australia certification
