Mp3 and how to encode mp3s

note to all : read this first

sharp 903SH (japanese edition) uses AAC files for music. SD-audio is also supported but its a really long and painful story. heres the guide to cnverting ur music into AAC format and placing it into ur sharp 903SH

encoding into mp3
1) get CD out of CD cover / jacket / select a folder containing mp3s
2) download apple Itunes ( if u use itunes as a primary music player this first two steps are not necessary)
3) select import files from file and select

i) for mp3 : select the folder of which the mp3 is located
ii) for CDs: please rip the CD into mp3 and do as above

if both steps do not work , check your options and under import encoder select AAC encoder

4) go to my documents/my music/itunes/[whatever your folder name is]

transferring into SD-card

1) connect card reader and insert mini SD card into adaptor followed by inserting both into the card reader
2) make sure that windows detects your card reader
3) select the file u want (converted file) copy and paste it
4) paste it in sounds and ringtones folder in your SD card drive

videos - SD_audio video in ASF format

this is a link form a site , with FF7 advent's children . enjoy

http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=730658

already encoded and for 903SH use

903SH video guide

you can go here : http://www.debbybrown.f2s.com/sdguide/layout.htm

what u need
1) moviestage
2) u need the movie stage directory updater do download that (can be found at link above)
3) windows media 9 encoder
4) one seperate little folder , create a folder anywhere u like and
5) [impt] MAKE or copy and paste a copy of the video u wanna convert because movie stage got power to delete ur original video file
6) update movie stage reigister with this registry patch
registry patch downloaded here : http://www.debbybrown.f2s.com/sdguid...geregedits.zip

to install the registry patch : Download the files, using right-click > Save Target As. You should then be able to run them straight by opening them. However, if its trying to open the files in a different program, like Windows Media Player, etc, you need to do the following:

§ Go to Start>Run

§ Type regedit and hit OK.

§ In the Registry Editor, go File>Import and then browse to your file to import the new settings.

original source for the registry patch method :http://www.debbybrown.f2s.com/sdguide/layout.htm

i ve got my own shortcut method.

1) download windows media 9 encoder
2) install it
3) go to convert file and select the file

4) select file computer playback
5) set video settings at VHS 250kbps CBR , audio at CD quality CBR

6) convert the file
7) use moviestage and select the file

press the spanner icon and add the folder where u saved the converted file
8) press the movies tab
9) press update button

10) u should now see the file appear (must have a little lock there)(number 1)
11) select the file , press convert (number 2)
12) select the settings , do note that at highest quality there are frame lags (number 3)
make sure that you have updated the registry first prior to this point and select the 902SH output. if you havent updated the registry , you wont have this 902SH output method

guide to transferring converted media into SD_video folder

1) film some videos with your 903 , choose to save as extended mpeg4
2) the phone will create an SD_video folder
3) rename the folders MOLXXX(any number you want so as long as it remains 3 digit).ASF
4) insert your MINI-SD card into adaptor and into Card reader
5) copy and paste into that directory

these are the highest settings the 903SH video encoding can go. any higher settings and it will not work with the moviestage programme.

to view it [your converted file] on ur PC with sound , u need this SHARP G726 CODEC
downloadable here : http://www.sharp.co.jp/viewcam/dl_data/SHARP-G726(J).exe

The .3gp method

converter avaliable here : http://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp/

1. Unzip first and click setup, choose SD-VIDEO ASF and set the laguage to English, then "apply".
2. Open the software, choose QVGA Normal Quality(or High).
3. Set up the output directory
4. Drag the file(s) which you want to convert to the software window.
5. Congratulations!! Your SD movie has already appeared in your output directory!!!

Cool ringtones

hmmz i m not too sure about this , here this goes

download this

http://smaf-yamaha.com/tools/dl.php?...c42086ae04f14a

1)get this yamaha MMF converter , download and install
2) get this http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.html

step 1) select mp3 file
step 2) use DB power amp to convert in WAV
step 3) open yamaha mmf converter
step 4) select the file
step 5) adjust settings for whatever preference u want , optimum setting is : 24000hz mono
step 6) convert
step 7) copy and paste the saved filed into the sounds and ringtones folder within the phone

source : kawai

method : the bluffing-sharp-902/903 that it is a DRM file when it actually isnt -trick

Trick for getting your own MP4 ringtone to work on 903SH
Basically the theory is simliar to 902sh, only different is that you have to get the extention of the file correct (rename the file from .m4a to .mp4 if your software produces different extention).

How to convert .mp3 ro ,mp4? Use itunes or dbpoweramp

The following steps are adapted from my previous post on 902, amended for 903's use.

1: Download a DRM enabled mp4 from somewhere first, and set it as ringtone.

(Have to find an address to download a secured MP4 through)

2: After downloading the ringtone and set it as the ringtone to be used, copy a mp4 ringtone (cindy.mp3 as a example) without DRM from SD card to handset memory. Remember not to use BT to transfer the file as files more than 450kbytes will be placed elsewhere and cannot be used.

3: Change the TEST ringtone to TEST-1 or any other name. Then set the cindy.mp4 as TEST.mp4.

4: Now the renamed cindy.mp3 has taken over the place of TEST.mp4 Do not do anything else and leave it as it is (Do not do a "set as ringtone" again) in order to trick the phone to play that.

If you are confused by all these, the basic principle of this is to get the phone to recognise a filename as a DRM-ed ringtone, then get the actual ringtone that you want to use to takeover that filename to trick the phone into playing that.

If you want to change ringtone again, just change the test.mp4 into something else and change the file you want as TEST.mp4

limitations : 1k mp4. u might need to get third party software to cut and shorten and reduce the sound quality

Detailed guide in changing ringtone in 903SH

Works around the same theory in changing ringtone in 902SH.

READ THIS FIRST : remember , after keying in the settings and selecting the right options , do three very very important things

(1) make sure that the in the connnectivity > settings > [correct settings box] is checked
(2) save the data

singtel

SingTel - credited to Destan and singtel hello@orchard technical staff
Went down to SingTel Orchard today, spend almost 3hrs and almost the whole technical staffs involved to get the correct setting. Internet is working but MMS is only one way . You can send but cannot receive. They are hoping to have a 902 user phone, possible internet and MMS working so that they can compare the difference settings between 902 and 903.

The below setting is for internet access:

Click on Options, choose Set. A prompt' When setting information is not right, it may be impossible to connect. OK?', choose Yes.

You will be directed back to Web Setting menu, scroll down to singtel wap, click on Options, choose Activate.

Exit all, power off and on to activate the above setting. Now you can start using the wap service

The below setting is for MMS configuration:

Messaging>Mail Settings>MMS Settings>MMS Accounts>Create New

Games for 903SH

Ok this is what i gathered , havent had the chance to test it yet. No idea whether it works

webbie for games

http://forums.hardwarezone.com/showt...1114814&page=1
we have 240X320 resolution games here on this webbie , do make an account and put 5 posts in order to download em

http://www.eblase.net/sharp/ <-- games compatible with 903SH : Fire

general game information
903 games should be running VSCL 2.0 spec, whereas these games are all VSCL 1.0.1 or 1.1.0 (according to their JAD files), meaning they're games designed for the Sharp GX line of phones. Some of them even specify a res of 120x130, which wouldn't be full screen on the 902 or 903 (both phones will centre them on screen, while GX phones stretch them to fit).[source from mobile-review forums]

try to get custom compatible 903SH games for maximum experience

method 1 : wap
1) [easiest and simplest way] download a game via wap.

method 2 : updated , source from M-R forums

step 1: upload a file to http://www.mobstorage.com/
step 2: go on wap on your phone and type in what they tell you
step 3: download

limitations : not all files compatible

method 3
: super annoying method. most hassle

method typically gets most games into my phone, but if it doesnt then the game is not compatible. Please follow this guide carefully: http://www.mobile-review.com/forum2/...&highlight=wap

another alternative is this method :

http://www.mobile-review.com/forum2/...ad.php?t=26671

source : http://www.mobile-review.com/forum2<...ight=902+games
