Starhub Maxonline Promotion With Digital Voice (VoIP)
DV Is Free With MOL Or Pay $10.29 (GST) Per Month.
- You Get A New Local Number For Free.
- Or Retain Number @ $8 Per Month. Free When Apply Value Pack Or Value Pack Plus* (Value Pack Plus Only Available With DV Travel)

Start Up Cost: VeCM ($115.50 If SH User) + Activation Fee ($42)

Types Of Calls
DV (Singapore) -> Local (Singapore) : Free
DV (Singapore) -> DV (Overseas) : Free
DV (Overseas) -> Local (Singapore) : Free
DV (Overseas) -> DV (Overseas) : Free

Local (Singapore) -> DV (Singapore) : Free* (Local Airtime Charges) (Not Sure)
Local (Singapore) -> DV (Overseas) : Free* (Local Airtime Charges)

DV (Singapore) = VeCM or IAD (Internet Access Device)
DV (Oversea) = IAD Only

Connection
VeCM
-> Telephone

Broadband (Ethernet Modem)
-> PC
-> Router -> PC
-> IAD -> Telephone
-> IAD -> PC/Router

VeCM vs IAD
+ IAD Plugs To Any Broadband Connection Worldwide
- VeCM Only Plugs Into SCV Cable Point

Both VeCM & IAD Prioritise Bandwidth To Make Calls More Smooth.
But VeCM Is Known Not To Affect Bandwidth/Calls At All.

IAD
- Model : Motorola VT1005S Voice Terminal

VeCM
- Model : Motorola SBV4200i

Possible Uses
IAD @ Overseas Relative To Make Free Calls To Singapore.
IAD @ Overseas Shop/Office To FAX To Singapore.
IAD @ Any Place With Broadband Connection.
VeCM @ Another Location In Singapore With SCV Cable Point.

Pondering
If Everyone In The World With Broadband Connection Uses This Service, Everyone Is Free To Call Anyone In The World* (With This Device).

FAQ
Only 1 Device To Be Used With One Number. No 2 VeCM/IAD Shares A Number.
Call Quality Is As Good, If Not, Better Than Normal Phone. (To Me, It's Louder)
DV Does Not Support Dialup, But May Work. Be Informed That There's A Exlusion List. Prevailing Call Charges Applies.
Software Fax Are Not Supported, But May Work.

Was wondering, since the VeCM can support up to 2 numbers, can both numbers be connected to the same telephone/telephone network.
I've tried it when i am younger, but does not work on the normal ST line. So not sure if it's possible on DV.

What I understand is this IAD unit (Motorola Vt1005) works on SIP. So I suppose it is.

Yes if you intend to connect it behind a router.

Any other way? Is it possible to have :
IAD ->Cable Modem ->Router OR
Cable Modem ->IAD ->Router

so that I just need to power up ONLY IAD or Cable Modem+IAD at all time?

No, because its just a VoIP device with no NAT feature, or a Router with VoIP capability.
You can however, buy router that has SIP VoIP feature in-built. The so-called IAD, in which refers to the Motorola VT1005S would then gone to waste.

IAD only has 2 x RJ45 ports, one for connecting to router or cable modem and the other to PC/Router. There is no coax for direct connection to cable point so your first option is not possible. 2nd option can be done. There is a 3rd option of Cable Modem -> Router -> IAD. In this option IAD will not be able to prioritize voice calls over internet traffic.
