Modems for miotv?

hi people, the miotv guy came to install the box today.. i was told that i cannot use this combination anymore: speedtouch 536v6 and dlink dir-300.. i have to connect my computer through usb..

the problem is, i need wireless access.. however, they singnet won't let me upgrade my plan to the integrated wireless one.. therefore, i have to purchase a modem myself..

may i know what modem should i buy? can i get the 2Wire 2700? i saw it on the miotv website.. and in particular, 2700HGV-2?

for miotv you'll need either one of the speedtouch model (cant remember which one) with specific firmware for miotv support, or 2wire. you may buy a 2wire 2700hgv-2 from malidax.
http://www.malifax.com.sg/contactus.html

purchase of 2wire is terms cash only. cant remember the exactly price - i think around S$280.

I am using the Speedtouch 585. According to the miotv contractor, it is considered an old model already. While it can support IPTV, it needs a firmware upgrade. However, there is a problem with password protection - appears to be locked by ISP.

Anyway, the contractor didn't know the password. So connection still not up.

Why your MIO TV come without 2wire modem?
I already have MIO plan with 2 wire modem.
When they came for MIO TV installation, they still bring down a brand new 2wire modem.
when they see I already have the 2 wire, they bring back the new modem.
The sale person told me I can keep the 2 wire modem free even I terminate the MIO TV.

the 2wire needs to be flashed to certain firmware to support miotv on port4. how old is your 2wire and what's the firmware level?

just checked the first firmware supporting iptv is likely 5.29.51. anyway shouldnt be a problem for you, it's just a new firmware update to make it work.

dont think can - but a newer firmware of the 5.49.xxx series should work if not wrong.
