HTC Touch HD

Your review says the Touch HD is 17.1mm thick. It isnt, it's 12.1mm thick so is actually slimmer than the iphone

in the article, page 2, the last photo at the bottom, the Touch HD thickness is wrong. the thickness should be 12mm, not 17.1mm. apple 3G thickness is correct, 12.3mm thickness.

Hi G4,

Thanks for pointing it out. The necessary changes have been made.

Any idea if you can fry an egg on the Touch HD , the way you can on the Diamond ? Do lets know, I'm considering getting myself a TouchHD and this egg-frying feature is my only concern.

The Egg frying case is really a worrying situation. However, what I believe is that it all in the ROM. Usually it will take a while after some complain/feedback from the 1st hand early users before the next few batches of HTC Touch series are "stable" enough to reduce the complain rate (like what you had been worry about, the egg frying case or some other cases).

There are 2 visible option to avoid disappointment,

1) Pray hard that the unit which will you can get your hands on is a problem free set or else wait patiently for the new ROM to patch it later.

2) Endure for a few months after the launch. By that time, I'm sure the ROM are stable enough to assist you in any of the way u want it to be.

It wouldn't be right to suggest a 3rd option (which is dun buy at all). Cause such technology is so hard to resist. So usually my choice is option 2. Would be waiting for the right time to get it.
