Singapore Trend: Finding a Foreign Brides.

Have we come to a point where local ladies are not longer attractive, capable or tender enough like as it used to be 30 years ago?

Is it not to our observation that our local ladies lack of the rack size, that nice contour or the elvish features and double eyelids that our poorer countries counter parts possess?

Or have the modern economic catch up with our ladies that without cars, condo or credit cards, we can no longer live happily?

Or maybe without our maids or parents, our ladies can no longer efficiently cooks, sew and care for their love one as moms did some years ago?

Or was it with higher education, our ladies become more calculating and demanding to a point that it become poison to our ears?

Or was it our ladies think too much when uncessary or too little when nesscary and believe too much in faith that their whole brain seem screw up and the only way to save them is not to marry them?

If the answer is yes. then prehaps it is time for us as ladies to petition to the governement to stop our Local man from marry foregin brides.

All I can say is the article is so old...2002. Although nothing changed much till today. Anyway it is noted the problem is the men 40+ chinese educated cannot find local wife which is understandable.

Which Singapore girl would want to marry say a char Kway Teow hawker or a foreman. Also their work means long hours and no time to socialise

My opinion -

I think you got that "If the answer is yes" bit wrong. It should be "If the answer is No". Yes?

that Char Tkway Teow Hawker or foreman at the age of 40 can just pay $10000 for a nice tendering caring, loving vietnamese 20 yr old wife to love and share his life with.
Imagine a guy have all the fun of being single until 40 and marry a 20 yr old wife.
Which man here would say that He is a loser?

As say, the article is so old since 2002, but what have our ladies done throughout all these years to restrain our local man from finding a lovely wife aboard?
It is time for us ladies to stand up to prove them wrong!
Did you learn how to cook?

Why not? Its a honest living with stable income. Its likely that mentality similar to yours and pass down through the generations is why foreign bride agency existed.

Btw I doubt the problem is strictly limited to 40+ Chinese educated men, considering the numbers of foreign bride agency that keep popping up. Not to mention the latest fad of parent attending sessions of matchmaking for their childrens.

Erm, if you think about it, there are in fact girls who would only go for foreign man.

I'm not sure about the exact number though.

Definitely not limited to 40+ Chinese educated men not marrying. This is typical way of looking at this problem. I have many friends who are well beyond their 40s, educated with diploma or degrees and still single.

Not by choice in most cases. Is because our local ladies walk with their face up most of the time and demanded for some of the Cs. At the same time, must keep or make them happy all the time.....very unrealistic.

So why blame the men for choosing a foreign wife? The local girls should take a hard look in the mirror and try to answer this question before throwing the blame on the local guys.

I prefer local girls but I think I will probably still end up with a foreign wife or remain single due to the very high expectations of MOST local girls.

I think in that case you should also plea with the Govt for stop Singaporean Woman from marrying foreign Man so as to be fair. You can't expect to ask only Singapore men to compete with FTs while Singapore Women have the luxury not having to face Foreign Competition.
