Let's say I'm getting a car

OPC that is.. Say it cost 80K.

Can I like pay 50K downpayment then pay the rest of the 30K via installments for say 4yrs? I go ask ask.. Seems like the shops telling me 'not advisable'. They either tell me I wont have freebies, no one put so much deposit or say i should pay lesser DP.. I noe they wanna make me take full loan or as much as they can ask me to. What i wanna ask is it 'coy policy' that i cant pay this way? Im nt intrested in their puny free gifts anyway. Dont worth much.

Btw how much must i pay per month for a 4 yr 30K loan including the intrest n such. Average.. How to count ar? I wanna pay all at one go but felt i better have a buffer instead of punting in all. Thanks.

* Lets not talk abt other factors including mods,petrol,insurance etc etc or any thingy just yet, just the basic monthly installment for the bank".

Most car dealers want to make comm thru insurance and loan.
So if they can do both with the car sale, they'll be very happy.
Some can choose to snub you if you choose to take min. loan, or pay full cash.

Some cars' sale prices/packages are pegged to a Required loan amount for certain interest rate.
If you choose not to follow the 'factors involved', the sale price may be higher than usual.
Why? Because they want to recoup the 'comm loss' from lower loan taken or insurance applied with others.

Anyway, the 30K loan for 4 years at hypothetical 2.7% interest is:

Interest = 30,000 x 0.027 x 4 yrs = 3,240
Instalment = (30,000 + 3,240) / 48 mths = 692.50

If they give u attitude just take ur business some where else.
Tell them that u are buying a car, either they treat u like a potential customer or you can find someone else who does. No such thing as "not advisable", only thing is they earn less, but is more advisable to you actually.

Wow, if you're forking out 50k DP and 30k installment, why not consider it a normal plate instead? Pretty much a waste if it's left parking for most of the time.

He has no need to drive during normal hours.

NB to all these dealers who snub you, still earn money, but earn lesser also don't want.
