A $1001 PC, A or B??

Greetings, posted this question as a reply somewhere. Reposting as TS if not i'll be hijacking another thread. Same time to clear up some question

Option A
P2 720BE + Biostar TA790GXE 128 = 322
KVR 800mhz CL5 2x2 GB = 88
Palit 4850 sonic 512mb = 159
WD 640GB Black = 113
LG DVDRW Sata = 32
OCZ modxsteam 600w = 148
CM 690 = 139
$1001 [PCT]

Option B
P2 550BE or P2 710 + Biostar TA785GE 128 = 265 [bell]
KVR 800mhz CL5 2x2 GB = 88
P.Color HD4890 1GB= 329
WD 500BG Blue/ Seagate 500GB = 80
LG DVDRW Sata = 32
OCZ modxsteam 600w = 148
CM 341 = 59
$1001

1) Opt A more stable then Opt B?
2) Opt B perform better in game then Opt A?
3) WD blue series HDD and Seagate 16mb HDD have big different? Recommendation?
4) WD black series HDD is a better chioce for game, am I right?
5) Casing for opt B is not a good chioce as HD4890 is hot, am I right?
6) Opt A 600w is enough to power xfire for HD4850, am i right?
7) If I take opt A, I plan to hold for a year and then xfire it. Can bros comment on this idea?
8) Xfire HD4850 is about 35% better then HD4890, am I right? In this case, which one uses more power?
9) Can we really feel the different in ddr3 and ddr2 ram performance if it is not tested with programs like benchies or bootup timer?
10) Time to go ddr3?

I thanks all bro in advance for replying.

1) Opt A more stable then Opt B? Stable as in? Both are stable i would say.
2) Opt B perform better in game then Opt A? In terms of graphic and FPS, yes.
3) WD blue series HDD and Seagate 16mb HDD have big different? Recommendation? Not much, go for black.
4) WD black series HDD is a better chioce for game, am I right? Black for performance, so yes.
5) Casing for opt B is not a good chioce as HD4890 is hot, am I right? Depending on your cooling as good casing can be also hot if cooling management is not done well.
6) Opt A 600w is enough to power xfire for HD4850, am i right? More than enough.
7) If I take opt A, I plan to hold for a year and then xfire it. Can bros comment on this idea? What games will you be playing on your new setup?
8) Xfire HD4850 is about 35% better then HD4890, am I right? In this case, which one uses more power? I guess 4850 CF uses more power.
9) Can we really feel the different in ddr3 and ddr2 ram performance if it is not tested with programs like benchies or bootup timer? Definitely, especially when encoding of video.
10) Time to go ddr3? Not yet.

Thanks blackhawk.

Actually is not much about gaming. Is just that I plan to get a new LCD a year later... currently using 19". I'm ploanning to get something like 24inc. That is why i felt that there is a need to xfire if i were to use 24" since the card will eb 512mb only.

get DDR 3 now
opt A or opt B is equally stable if you run everything on stock
nowadays games depends more on GPU than CPU, so opt B will be better in high resolution gaming.

I think he means not much into setting to super high setting in game. He was trying to say he always set around mid to high setting.

if u can afford to not set high settings. get option A, better cpu...generally more functional if u value higher min fps at low mid settings.

Agreed!! I use a 22" LCD with my discrete HD3300 and so far everything has been brilliant. Thou i don't game much neither go for graphic intensive games, videos are no problems. Get your discrete when you need it for games. Price goes down faster than Dow Jones did in recession. In my case, waiting for D3. If you like to do video convertion/ encoding, get quad core instead, absolutely no regrets on that.

Stick a fan front and back of 341, air flow is not bad.
