2.6% is for concession rate. There is a non-concession rate. Have to depend on your eligibilty.

Yes, if someone is planning to pay off the loan within 3 years. Just take bank loan with fixed 3 years. I am sure the current rate is better than HDB.

If for the long term such as 20 years or 30 years, HDB loan is still a better bet because bank loan full of uncertainty.

I doubt anyone can pay off the housing loan within 3 yrs..most bank offer lower rates for first few years. After that, do refinance with other banks. most of them doing like that.

Few of my friends managed to do it. Save like hell and all savings and bonuses threw in to settle the loan within 3 years, dun wan to let bank earn the interest.

Refinance is an option aft few years. But if suay suay that period interest rate at record high and stay, even with refinance, the interest will not come cheap.

Current interest is super low especially look at the Sibor rate, so only one way to go in future.

don't think there is any implications but if in future the Bank interest higher than HDB interest, you can't refinance back to HDB.

Its advisable to take HDB loan.....

If you take up bank loan, have to make sure you dont miss too many months of payment, they are not as flexible as HDB loan...
