Anyone can help regarding HDB problem?

Hi there! I would appreciate if i can get some advise or some feedback. 2 years ago,i bought a HDB with my parents, now i'm thinking of getting married next year or the year after.I have a few problems, firstly i got the HDB using a bank loan. I understand from hdb that i need to wait for 5 year before i can get another place..Let's say if i were to wait 5 years,i would also need to transfer the full ownership to my parents, which i don' t think they are capable of paying the loans. What should i do,if you guys were me...Would you go out and rent a place first? Any suggestions? I would appreciate all the help i can get. Thanks a lot!!

sticky situation. No easy answer to this
depends on what you want and luck as well.
Renting is not cheap as well. If i were you,
i will try to go and see a few places for rent
and you will get a better picture what's in store

Can't stay with parents? Just add your wife.

If parents forever can't afford to pay for the flat, then your name is stuck there forever too, no need to go and think of buying another HDB flat with wife.

Only solution for you is to sell the house, ask parents to get a cheaper house (maybe HDB studio, 1rm or 2rm flat) to be paid up in full without loan.

Then you and wife can get a HDB flat.

No other alternative since you do not wish to stay with parents.

Or you can rent a flat forever with your wife till your parents pass on.
(Then you might as well be a PR and not a sporean since you like paying rent)

I think you can transfer flat to parents at original price and that's not considered a sale and you should be able to apply for another one. If you can afford to rent a place, you should be able to afford paying the bank loan for your parents.

If your wife is working and age >35, she (1 person) can buy up to 4 room unit.

Wait until your unit (you + parent) fully paid, then you add your name to your wife unit. Or get the new one using you+wife name.

STOP MISLEADING PEOPLE, you silly joker.

Married person is not allowed to each have their own name in two different HDB flat.

SINGLES above 35yrs old can, but not MARRIED above 35yrs old.
If not every couple will want to do that.
