IRAS charges 10% instead of 4% .. how?

Hi,

I've just gotten my keys 1 week back and IRAS's property bill came to charge me 10% instead of 4%. Somemore, charge me the months before I got the keys and
the previous owner say he has already paid up.

How do i go about doing a dispute?

go to IRAS mytax portal and submit a claim for the 4% concession.... its pretty hassle free

Previous owner might have lease out his HDB unit, hence the 10%...

Dun worry lah.. when dealing with IRAS.. super efficient one. If they owe u $.. will send u chq very fast.. is very common to adjust their statement of account. Their computer system very online.. u must always pay up first, and then IRAS will credit u back. No such thing as contra off, unless u willing to pay the 5% penalty.

don't pay first, they will take forever to refund the difference. Write to them first.
