The main advantage SSDs have are lower seek times and significantly superior random read/write performance, which affects game/app loading time, OS boot time, etc:
Random Read
Velociraptor: 0.68MB/s & 17.3 ms
GSkill Falcon (not sure about Team SSD): 29.45MB/s
Intel X-25M G2: 58.5MB/s & 0.2 ms
Random Write
Velociraptor: 0.59MB/s
GSkill Falcon: 17.02MB/s
Intel X-25M G2: 34.5MB/s
As you can see, the Falcon is about 43x faster at random reads and 29x at writes, and the Intel's speeds are 86x and 58x faster respectively (note that the Intel is about twice as fast as the GSkill when it comes to random reads/writes, which the whole point of buying an SSD to begin with).
IMO, if you are upgrading from Velociraptor, the Intel is the best choice for OS drive (the last time I checked the 80GB Intel was $400, a good bit cheaper than the GSkill 128GB). 80GB should be more than sufficient for any OS, although if you feel you want more the GSkill drive is still an okay upgrade compared to the Velociraptor's speed.
Ignore all trolls who attempt to compare sequential read/write speed, those numbers are only relevant when moving large files around and absolutely worthless on an SSD/OS drive.
