Patricia Mok once spent thousands on Thai boys
In the upcoming local movie Happy Go Lucky, actress-comedienne Patricia Mok visits a gigolo bar with her friends and unfortunately, she gets cheated off all her money at the nightspot.

In real life, such a scenario is only half-true. The boisterous one said that her onscreen character and herself have one thing in common - a lustful and cheeky nature - and confessed that she too visited a similar club a few years ago where she once spent thousands of dollars on a male Thai performer in just one night.

She shared that there were both male and female performers in the club, and patrons can buy garlands of flowers (which can cost from $10 to $100) to show their support for the performers onstage.

At that time, she was particularly impressed with one of the Thai boys and consecutively visited the club a few nights with friends to show her support. The actress went the extra mile and even invited him out to accompany her, though she solemnly added, "Setting these aside. Performers are actually not required to accompany guests"

Centered on how gambling affect a family's fortune and relationships, the movie marks Patricia's first collaboration with actress Fann Wong. She will take on the role as Fann's vain older half-sister, Donna, and gushed in glee to be given the chance to scold the Ah Jie.

With the production heading to one of Cambodia's popular casino to film for a week next month, Patricia says that unlike her character who follows her gambler father (played by Liu Qianyi) around, she is not a keen gambler in real life.

"Even if friends invite me along to Genting, I would seldom go because I am afraid of losing my money to others! The most I would do is play mahjong during the New Year. But I have my limits and can only lose a maximum of S$200."
