Xperia XA1 Ultra will be coming to Singapore on June 10, at the price of S$598 !
The “super mid-range” Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is officially available on 10th June 2017 at S$598. Interested buyers will be able to find them at Sony Stores, Sony Centres, M1, Singtel, Starhub, official Sony retail partners, and authorized local retailers. They come in colors White, Black, Pink, and Gold.

The phone comes with a unique edge-to-edge 6-inch display where the device’s screen barely touches the aluminum sides. Inside is a mid-tier processor, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20. The rear has a 23-megapixel camera with a bright f/2.0 aperture lens.

This phone is an update to last year’s Sony Xperia XA Ultra.

Never have a Sony phone before.

I'm looking for an affordable 6" phone with good camera especially in low light and night shots. I don't play graphic intensive games too.

Is the XA1 Ultra fits the bill?

Currently, I'm using Mi Max... Horrible low light and night shots.

Typically, affordable phones in the mid-range price tag will not have cameras that are good in low light (those are flagships).

I suppose this caught your interest as it is using a previous Sony flagship camera sensor.

Maybe you can take a look at one of the online reviews to judge for yourself:

As the phone is fairly new, video reviews on the camera are not yet available on YouTube yet.

Thanks, bro. That was a good, detail read.

I guess the 23mp camera is still no way near the 13mp of the Galaxy Note 5 then...

Sony phones could be good, but not known to be affordable.

Yes. However, this XA1 Ultra caught my interests as it priced itself at a RRP of $598...

Street price can be much lower then...

Maybe if you can wait a bit, the price may come down to 400+ in some shops at Far East Plaza.

Actually the hardware is let down by Sony's poor camera software image processing. You need to fiddle with the manual settings then you can get photos as good as other flagship auto mode.

I had a Z5C and Moto X Pure. Almost every photo shoot by Moto X in auto mode would be better looking.

I do not think it is using previous flagship camera, this is their mid-range phone after all...IMO, you can never match affordable with good camera...

I used to have the XA Ultra and even thought it has higher resolution than my older Z3+, it can't match the Z3+ camera...in terms of both photography and video recording...

The Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra rear camera uses the IMX300 camera sensor, which is same as the Xperia Z5/X Performance/XZ

IMX300? Based on the number. It is less superior than the IMX386 used by some other brands?
