My suggestion is to open an account with DBS Vickers and purchase around $8,333.33 with the Cash Upfront account to maximize the fees that you pay which is 0.12% or $10 minimum...Cash Upfront account got $5 rebate per trade...

If you don't mind paying 0.82% fees like POSB Invest Saver, you need to spend at least $610 using cash upfront account...So around 2 lots per trade...

If you are buying using cash upfront, might as well buy ES3 over G3B...

Now got dbsv promo first 3 trades free I think ... might be good for lump sum, but pls read the tnc.

POSB IS is setup under Invest Unit Trust (Nikko STI ETF) is it? Is it valid for the DBS PayLah! cash back promo?

If i sign up by Monday (30th Apr), the first deduction will be on 16th May (15th May is Sunday)?

Thanks.

Oh ... STI is at an all time high now ... is it good for lump sum?

I feel that RSP is good when we put money in on a regular basis. For one time lump sum it would be better to buy through brokers or via DBS Vicker as suggested earlier.

Your question is exactly why I choose to use RSP. When we buy on our own, our mind is influenced by many factors. It clouds our decision. RSP dun really think. Every month as a fixed date it buys. High or low dun care. No market timing.

Two years back I tried to buy both RSP and directly from the market for a period of six month. In the end I missed one month buying directly from the market. I was so busy with work that I forgotten. On other month I had to keep monitoring the market to time my entry. For $300 a month, it took a lot of my time. It would make more sense if we have $30K and need to time our entry to the market. For $300 a month just sit back and relax (by using a RSP).

can any sexpert helps in calculation:

April: put $200
0.82% sales deduct thereafter is $198.36
Bid price is $3.5818, unit received is 55, so how come refund is not $1.36 but $1.37?
