ohh... thought you referring to PC <=> NAS direct cross-cable transfer. thanks for the PC tips though. Always find it hard too setup the cross-cable link between PCs and Laptops.

actually the above portion that i'd explained is for pc <-> NAS direct.
can be done for PC/notebook <-> PC/notebook also.

You should format your harddisks after you upgraded to firm V2.xx as it will support the advance format technology.

Of course backup your data first before you format. :)

I think I will upgrade the FW. If I dun reformat what functions/features will I be missing?

Also, to backup means hv to copy to ext HDD right? What is the fastest wa to do that?

If your HD was formatted in v1.00 then you're likely to missed out on the partition alignment for AFT drive.

Fastest way to do data transfer is on a desktop PC.

Alternatively, use some other browser like firefox, safari,....
or use download managers like flashget, IDM, FDM,.....

Hi guys, can help me out a bit. I needed to erase my DNS320 so I lost my fun plug but now I cannot install transmission. Can someone try and download the tar files of transmission and curl here so I can install them. Don't know why but can't seem to be able to download them.

is it save to upgrade firmware with raid 1 setup and fun plug install? :s22:

Safe as in data lost? As with most firmware upgrade, it only touch on the flash memory.

My ffp is still working as per normal on my standard volume setup. Scan disk on Volume_1 is still not working (even with v2.00). So far only tested the P2P apps, the folder is now hidden but show up as separate shared folder.
