Just setup the 1512+... power cycled 5 times and so far so good.

But... I noticed my Samsung 2TB HD204UI parking its heads every 20 seconds, each time with an audible click. The load_cycle_count value kept increasing in tandem with the clicks.

Found this thread about the 1812+ and HD204UI, which seems to tally with my observation. http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewto...?f=116&t=49501

Please remind me again why I should not be early adopter... sigh

Uploaded a video of the problem, with details in video description: Samsung HD204UI Load_Cycle_Count increasing while idle in Synology DS1512+ - YouTube

Any users of 1512+ & Samsung 2TB HD204UI?

FYI I'm one of them who experienced the BBOD and posted at the forum.I've returned the item(DS1812+) to Amazon for refund which Amazon have processed and refunded. .The item works fine for a week only. When BBOD happens,I'm using DSM 3.2 and ram is still default.Go figure!!!!

Hi

Did you get full refund from Amazon? Who pay for freight?

I am thinking to getting a 2nd Synology from Amazom. Does Amazon provide 3 years warranty?

Thank you
Cheers
