Those small hotels within Xmd itself usually no good. Cos the small retail shops will blast the music non stop and theres no sound proof. Tried once manage by HK mgt before.
stayed few 3* hotels in xmd ...
Some good some not good ...
basically cannot expect much ...

50 will possibly get you 4 walls no window and a door.
Will not wanna stay in such.
90-100 will be cityinn sort of pricing.

Cityinn is in my list too, but they have a few which are still available on my schedule. Taipei Main branch 2, branch 3, ximen and fuxing. Which one will you recommend?

Btw, anyone stayed at the Orange Taipei hotel at Ximen before?

Yes, i stayed solo in orange hotel & loved the rooms actually.its the same building as burgary hotel(2units away)

Quiet surroundings and not like those shared buildings hotels in xmd.. give review 9/10, one of the best cheapest hotel i ever stayed

What are the good ones you have stayed and will recommend?

Is the waiting time for lift very long?
Hot pot smell? etc...
Reviews on tripadvisor is pretty bad.
But their price is really cheap though.
I din smell any hotpot?
Booked 3 rooms. 1 family room and 2 normal. booked without windows but was given window instead. To me, family room is big and come with a small sofa and a table.
However, waiting time for lift is indeed "long" especially in the morning where everyone goes down for breakfast or checkout.
There is one time whereby I wanted to go down (I stayed at 7th floor), I waited for like 10 mins. but the lifts are full, no matter up or down. I had to use the stairs instead.
No issue at all for the rest of the time except for morning session.

Besides the lift too slow, any other significant faults? Actually among the few business/budget hotels in Ximen area, I see Midtown Richardson seems to be the biggest and well located at the same time.
Any cleanliness or smell issue? I am only particular if the room, bed and bathroom is clean or not. I can live with the sound or elevator...

for my stay in july, I feel comfortable for my stay in family room. Toilet is big and clean with a bathtub (well there is no curtain so water might splash out to the dry area while bathing). No foul smell in the room. housekeeping everyday. my room is quite far from the elevator so cant hear much noise. but there is one night i can clearly hear a family talking while i am lying down on my bed at night. should be living above of under my room. anyway that is not a big issue.

main point, price is ok for a big family room, location is good. hotel easy to find.

Decide to share a bit...
IMO, cityinn xmd branch is not bad but abit expensive and must book early. I stayed before all their room cat. Their branches at TMS so-so only. They do have hourly-rental for frying rice.

The Park Taipei at Daan station also not bad. This room cat is facing 101.

I also even try out the Rilakkuma homestay outside Taipei.

Have some more to share but lazy

Depending on your budget and travel dates
if u wan one in xmd, good location, small rooms, you can try tomorrow hotel
sometimes their price is as low as 36sgd per nite for two ... normally 50+
There r also other 3* hotels which is about 50+ to 60+ per nite ... however, prices would be higher for weekends stay ...

Those capsule or shared rooms nice or not ? Thinking of trying out for fun.

Is thinking Park City Inn & Hostel or equivalent ~20 per night only .

Need to pay more for early check-in before 3pm?
