Been to Bangkok a few times. Have done up suggested 2-day itineraries for first-timers, regulars and shopaholics which can be conveniently executed on a weekend trip.

You can check it out here: The Perfect 2-Day Itinerary For Bangkok

cool that's good.
But I think two points to note is that firstly, roads are always jam, hence time would be wasted. Secondly, maybe the schedule may seems too tight as my gal friend can shop platinum mall for one whole day for abt 4-5hrs ...

Normally, I would advise my friends the following as they are more interested in shopping.
Cluster 1: MBK, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery center
Time taken: 3+2+1 => 6 hrs
Cluster 2: Platinum Mall, Pratunam Market, Centralworld, Big C
Time taken: 4+2+2+2 => 10 hrs
Maybe need split into two days
Cluster 3: CTC (few stops away) + Central plaza + big c extra
Time taken: 4+3+2 => 9 hrs
Cluster 4: Terminal 21
Time taken: 2.5hrs
Cluster 5: Patpong Market + Asiatique
1.5+3.5=> 5 hrs
Others: Chinatown maybe 2.5 hrs

Depending on where u stay, if I stay huay kway, would normally go cluster 3.
However, would still train down to chitlom bts and then go to platinum mall, centralworld etc ...

Cluster 3: CTC (few stops away) + Central plaza + big c extra

what can 1 expect from above s/c ?

is it same like Siam Paragon - mid to expensive stuffs and food outlets that can be found like Siam Paragon?

is it better than terminal 21 assuming only have time to visit either one.

Central plaza is like centralworld 7 floor shopping mall.
big c extra which is one stop away from central plaza is a supermarket.

So centralworld + big c at chitlom bts area.
is like central plaza + big c extra in huai kway area

terminal 21 is more of slightly expensive place to shop for clothing
their shops have theme, just like an aircon bugis street.
one shirt maybe 10+ sgd . wont find like ctc 4-6sgd shirts :)

CTC 4-6sgd shirt quality chui one.

T21 has some good one but need to look more detail, price i would say is fair.

Any central plaza you go should be mostly more expensive then T21? They have brands like greyhound zara etc in central plaza.

at least there is big c nearby?

Big C is not for shopping clothes. Unless u buy your clothes in Giant, Carrefour this kind of places. More for buying Thai snacks, food stuff to bring back home.

Quality of 100 to 120 baht T shirts depends on whether you know how to choose the material or not. If you touch and feel, you will realise that there are different materials, some more lasting then others.

SOme of my T-shirts last a long time, while some shrink or expand. Takes a bit of trial and error to see which are the good ones.

MBK not really interesting, don't need so much time. Very touristy.

Siam Paragon also have a big supermarket. Quite interesting to walk around. Most instagammed place in the world.

Terminal 21 is not a shopping heaven, they project themselves with more individuality and style so is more expensive but it is the best place for phototaking and hiding from the afternoon heat.
Personally, I don't like Asiatique. The stuff there are so so only. And the place is not really accessible.

Chinatown's morning is more for shopping of accessories. Night is for the seafood which I also don't find it nice.

Platinum only opens around 10 plus, can drop by pratunam morning market
Big C is like Giant supermarket. Siam paragon is like NTUC hypermart.

If you looking at pure shopping and eating trip, can check out my itineanary.

I also don't like Chinatown seafood. Expensive, rude staff, dirty and must travel all the way.

Maybe the cold storage I been to is all quite small.
Siam paragon has a bigger variety snacks from various places, to me is slightly more interesting. Siam have also some expensive of snacks which make the whole place seems pricer. I realise siam paragopn is not like hypermart, there are no the clothes and electronics which makes your point valid.. :s13: Think i only go supermarket for the food, so I forgot about the rest of the stuff...
