I just came back from BKK. Would suggest you to skio union mall. Nothing much inside, it's just another normal shopping centre.

Imho I would suggest you to do more sight seeing then shopping, as most of the stuffs there SG already have. But becareful of scams(do your research), at those tourist attractions.

Wah, you like Chatuchak mkt so much you must go 2x ah? :o
Central Plaza is fairly big. I suggest yall walk walk there and eat dinner. The top storey seriously seriously A LOT OF eateries and restaurants.

Btw, go try the KFC bucket rice at BKK. S$2.5 only. Much better than sg version

agree with you, most of the stuff there, especially clothings, are MIC and can be bought in taobao at cheaper rate.

I booked hotel (Shadi) via booking.com. The web mentioned will be paid before arrival, but I noted that the hotel fee was not deducted via my card yet. Anyone has any idea on this? Just so I need to bring cash for payment during check-in.

I think bestest you email and ask the hotel now, providing your booking.com booking reference number.

You might have selected the option to pay the hotel at their currency .
you might want to call the hotel and check

the hotel is a 3* hotel, doubt they would reply email.
calling is the best ....

Anyone has any idea of how to go Ayutthaya? Heard that van at Victory Monument has moved elsewhere.
I went there many years back. It's quite simple, you can go to Hua Lamphong railway station, buy the tickets from there, hop on to the train.

thanks for the information.

my previous trip was by rail from Hua Lamphong (B20), then i hired a motorbike at Ayutthaya for B150. then i went back to Bangkok via rail again (B20).

All in a day? I am curious how to move around in Ayutthaya if not riding bike and with family. This is my next destination if I were to visit Bangkok again.

yes, you can cover quite some places in a day in ayutthaya on motorbike. i think there are bicycles for rent as well, tuk tuks are also waiting at the railway station areas.

some of the places i remembered going are:
Wat Worapho
Wat Worachettaram
Wat Lokayasutharam
Chedi Si Suriyothai
Wat Na Phra Men
Wat Thammikarat
Wat Ratchaburana
Wat Maha That
Wat Phu Khao Thong
Wat Phra Si Sanphet
