airline tags on our check-in luggages

Do you remove them?

What if I have lots of airline tags on my luggages.

Will it confuse the airlines or best to remove the older tags?

It's best to remove them. Luggage handlers move thousands of pieces of luggage a day. Do you think they'll look carefully at each and every tag they see to ensure it's valid for that flight ? Probably not at the kind of low wages they are making.

Even if they are careful at Changi Airport, its no guarantee they'll be equally careful in many poor countries where most things are done manually at very low cost by overworked workers.

Just make sure that your bag only has the one for the trip you are taking.

Especially in complicated itineraries with many transits.

They usually remove mine especially SQ. One of SQ told me must remove to prevent luggages from being sent to other aircraft.

Is this not common sense? Kindly resist the urge to show off, and spare a thought for the luggage handlers. It is in your interest too, unless you want your luggage to go on the Amazing Race.
