Came back today too... It's somewhat better than Star Cruise because everything looks so pristine and clean, but the service of the staff and quality of entertainment from both cruiselines are more or less equally good. Don't regret going on the trip but the top-up may not be worth it for some.

Doesn't hurt to change some USD to bring onboard or to use on shore excursions, but most of the time you will end up charging everything to your card because it's so convenient. In that case, the only time you may need your USD is to pay off the expense account at the end of the trip if you haven't linked a credit card, but I recommend you don't bother because the lines were very long at the customer service on the last day, even way after midnight. Take the 5% surcharge on the credit card withdrawal like a man :s13:

Also be prepared to spend wayyyyy more than you expect. There are flash sales (though they are reflected clearly on the activities schedule) on some very nice stuff like watches, bags, etc.

Jus back today from the cruise too, terrible check in experience. Reached 1045am, queued 2hrs just to check in.

My sis in law reach at 1230pm, queued for 3hrs. When its time for the safety drill at 4pm, still alot other stranded in the queue unsure if they conduct another drill for them or not.

But overall nice cruise trip, food was good but room service menu will be the same throughout, can be hard to find seats for breakfast in windjammer if you have big group, checkout was smooth though.

I reached ard 11.15 am but got in by 12.30 pm. Important thing is to quickly queue for the seapass registration right after checking in the luggages. The seapass registration is the bottle neck. Those Gold/platinum members actually checked in slower due to lesser check-in counters although they had so called "privilege" or "prority" queue. Heard about those who came right after 12.30 pm, really damn torture to queue for 3 hrs. Either you come in early or come later, those from 12.30 to 2 pm damn jialut. So guys, go EARLY! Even though they say cabins ready at 1 pm, most of the rooms were already ready. I got into my cabin right after boarding. Try you luck, otherwise just go makan at windjammer lor. :)

Strange didn't have the check in problem a year ago when I went. In fact, there wasn't any queue at all.

For the casino we can just change for chips using the seapass if its link to a credit card right?

Shd I change some USD to use onboard?

As for separate tipping u guys give SGD or USD?

You can choose either for the Casino.
Use USD to chips directly at the table or to your card.

For tips, I used both. Dining I use SGD. For my room, I use USD.

I charge everything to cash on my seapass. I did not have any queues when I do payment. I paid up on the noon day after I came back from the Phuket shore excursions.:s12:

Patong Beach. It is within walking distance to Jungceylon shopping.

yeah, even thought i reached early i got stopped by the cruise centre staff that i cant hand carry any big lugguage that exceeded those cabin lugguage size when i am about to queue, so bo bian have to turn back and check in my lugguages

theres only 1 or 2 counters serving the priority queue and the queue can be quite long too

while theres about 10 counters for the normal queues, but each guest check in takes about 15min so i waited for 2 hrs....

those came between 12.30-2pm, they only got on board near 4pm and some even after the safety drill (4pm). better prepare some food/drink on hand while queuing

i got in at about 1pm and still able to find some seats in Windjammer, but the lunch stop at 3pm i think

Hi, Just to share my experience regarding checking in. I arrived there around 12:30 and only able to board the ship at 4 plus. The queue was really long and it almost made me wanna turn back and go home .. Standing for whole 4 hrs is not a joke. So Pls go either early or late as other suggested.

Hi, quite worried to hear about the queues. Does it mean that we'll still need to queue even after doing the online check-in? Since it's automatic tipping, is tipping still necessary? Thanks in advance!

There will be 4 queues : 1) Check-in luggage, 2) seapass registration 3) Custom & 4) Boarding (passport collection).

You will need to clear all these but can skip luggage check-in luggage if you do not want to check in your baggage. As for gratuity, it is already covered in the package.
