That's very fast. I submit claim to Allianz, reply once then no answer, very lousy company.
Yeah and was effective. Guess i am sticking to msig for future travel insurances.

Sent from my Samsung 4K HDTV in Batam using GAGT

Within MSIG, there is DBS MSIG, SCB MSIG, msig traveleasy ...
all 3 prices varies differently ... only dbs travellershield is within 5 days must see medical assistance, if you did not see dr overseas ... the others r 72 hrs

Cheapest is still scb msig, even though all 3 have 50% discounts ongoing ...

Im looking for travel insurance which covers rental vehicle excess and extreme sports (ie. sky diving) i chanced upon SOMPA insurance. Has any one used it before, how are their claims and are there any promotions for it?

To fast track the process ... You may wish to provide the below when submitting online claim :

"Please provide us with the following documents/information before we can assess your claim:

1) Are you claiming from any other insurance policy or does your employer’s group medical policy provide coverage for you for this claim? If Yes, kindly furnish us the following details:
- Name of the party you are claiming from
- Amount received
2) Flight itinerary / boarding pass / immigration stamp indicating date in and out of the country"

They will ask you for receipts or other info later.

Did u claim damage luggage from airline first ? you should.
I never claim from airline cost I took tigerair back and they say tiger don't have a designated compensation/repair company, so I should just claim from insurance. Is that wrong info by the airport?

That's what the handling agent for Tiger Airways at HKIA told me too.

Is good to check your luggage when you get them out from conveyor belt .
if there is fault such as crack or wheels missing, look for their baggage counter

I guess they got split between full fledged vs budget airline.
For full fledged, if your luggage is spoilt, normally they would replace one new luggage for us, matches your spoilt luggage specification ...

if you flying budget airline ... Be sure to buy your travel insurance ...
My few luggage damaged experience not very good ...

Scoot to seoul - Big crack + wheels dropped off .
Scoot says claim from your insurance company if you buy travel insurance ...

Jetstar : Luggage handle one side dropped off.
Basically I am not able to carry my luggage anymore , one side of the handle is flowing in the air turning 360 degree ... Jetstar staff says "I’m afraid I can’t accept your claim on this occasion, as we are not liable for normal wear and tear of baggage, such as small scratches, scuffs, dents and cuts". I replied him handle fall off, is not under wear and tear ... Then no more reply ...

Jetstar : Luggage big crack, bigger than size of your fist
Jetstar staff reply, "Please provide us with 2 quotes from a baggage repairer for the repair of your baggage so that we can consider the options that are available to you. Valid quotes must be in the right format with a letterhead and complete contact details of the provider."

i have a question ...

So far my experience with full fledged airline luggage handling was good ...
no damaged luggage ... (though fren encountered once before)
one yr flying full fledged twice ...

However, my experience with budget airline not so good
one yr 8 to 10x budget airline, will have at least twice damaged luggage ...

Is the people handling our luggage (full fledged airline) more professional + more careful with our luggage ?

so far my understanding is one counter handles all ... on the other hand, in bangkok, if yours is full fledged is one counter, if urs is budget, is another counter ...
