Hi guys, what’s the process of claiming medical fee after trip?
I currently have a stye on my eyes. Is it claimable for insurance? Most likely going to clinic once I’m back in Singapore as it’s tolerable for now.

depending on your policy.
some insurance, must see doctor overseas, then come back within x number of days can see doctor in singapore again ... if u no c doctor overseas, you wont be able to claim in the first place ...

most of the travel insurance would allow you to see doctor in singapore within x number of hours or days. Some are 48 hours or 72 hours or 120 hours ...
depending on your travel insurance policy ...

Thanks.

I just booked some stuff on Changi Recommend, and it seems like they have some promotion with HYFE Assure. That is underwritten by HL Assurance, but I've no idea if they are worthwhile.

*edit*
Ok, it's Hong Leong.

I will skip HL , friends have bad experience.
Their baggage is missing in Singapore airport ...
Cannot claim ... since not overseas

SECTION 5
Delayed Baggage
The Company shall pay up to the Benefit Limit if the Insured Person’s
checked-in baggage is temporarily lost in transit or misdirected by the
carrier and not returned to the Insured Person within six (6) hours after
his /her arrival at the baggage pick-up point of the scheduled overseas
destination.

Chubb’s travel insurance promo is back. Superior APAC plan at $435/yr plus a free Samsonite luggage. It’s a new design so maybe the value is higher.

YMMV.

They now having 60% for single plan ...
Doubt not much would sign a travel insurance for up to $400+ ?

Anyway purchase before from them, when coming to claim, big headache, need to fill up many things, and let your doctor fill up the particulars ...
When you book ur flight, your flight details, your medical condition, who is your usual doctor, etc ... Even now msig only 40%, price is about $10 more expensive, would rather buy from msig ...

In the end chubb took about 2 months to reimburse ...

don't buy Chubb Insurance through DBS. Their travel coverage is very misleading and they will reject your claim under post journey if you fall sick in SG only. Seems according to their explanation, you have to be sick overseas first and upon return must see a doctor or be hospitalised immediately and then can claim. Their policy wording is very misleading for layman people. Other insurance companies approve claims within a period of time upon your return if you fall sick in SG only. No wonder Chubb gives good promotions easily everytime. Big time cheaters!!!

DBS used to partner with MSIG a year + ago...
That time bought alot of policies with them.
No need c dr overseas, come back within 120 hours (5days) c doctor can claim

Then they changed to partner with Chubb
Yup, their promo is very attractive 60%
For example, 5days asean trip, the price is $18+, if msig is $25+

Chubb is the only insurer that DOES NOT COVER local SG medical treatment when overseas medical was not first sought.

Most insurers cover local SG medical within 2 to 5 days upon return.

Very important point to note ...
perhaps most wont see doctor overseas , very troublesome ...
unless really very serious ...

They’re mainly good if you’re flying with redeemed air miles and also staying at hotels with redeemed points.

The dealbreaker might be post trip medical expenses which some people also abuse for other companies. Nothing wrong just go see a doctor after coming back to ‘breakeven’.

I find NTUC Income & AVIVA most reliable. Fuss free and easy claims. AVIVA prestige plan is the only plan that covers Trip cancellation/ Change of traveling date due to “any reason”.

Going to BKK for 4 days via Scoot. Please suggest a plan with emphasis on medical, hospital and flight delay. Would really appreciate promo codes too. Thanks

Used policypal to compare the travel insurance ...
Msig only their elite plan shown there, their cheapest plan, not reflected there ...
