managed to use go-jek in batam with SG number
not sure if it's the same with bali
yes, it seems to be the case with the latest app. we can now modify the default +62 country code. go-jek is no longer indo centric. perhaps after investments made by temasek.

I planning trip to Bali in jun. I notice MFA still has the notification to avoid Bali. Does it means that if i purchase travel insurance now, i will not be covered for cancellation related to future volcanic activies.
Both Sompo & MSIG still consider Mt Agung's possible eruption as a Known Event, so if you made travel arrangements to Bali or bought travel insurance after MFA's advisory was issued in Nov 2017, you will not be covered for claims arising from eventual eruption (eg delayed flight, disaster etc)

but u can still claim for non-volcano eruption specific claims

Kuta has many malls, near airport and plenty of restaurants and other food options. Semiyak is quieter and more upscale, not so in your face as compared to kuta. Can go to tanah lot and uluwatu from these 2 area.
So stay kuta , Tanah lot and uluwatu is recommended?

the water and food even though served in restaurant sometimes may or may not cause stomach upset.
for younger people ok, just make sure the elderly or young kids do not have to go through these
bring stomach upset pills along k
so jia lat? better ask them bring the charcoal pill along sia... thanks for the head up... Personally i travel so much , yet to go Bali , now hear food and water like that zzz

These 2 famous temples are at the south, so nearer. People do these 2 with jimbara beach dinner. Of cos can travel to central ubud and up north for other POIs too, just longer driving duration.

i think for shopping malls ... kuta best & nearest to airport
tanah lot, uluwatu very scenic but a little far off ... there are shopping streets but don't think there are malls

go read about tanah lot curse ... interesting
So stay kuta , Tanah lot and uluwatu is recommended?

Tanah Lot and Uluwatu are attractions. Hardly any tourists choose to stay there.

In Bali vast majority of massage places are clean. I mean - you have to purposely look for 'unclean' messages if you want one.

I stay at citadines, it's really good especially the breakfast. Only con is toilet rather small but still ok.
And nearby got a western bar at 2nd floor one is really good, also few good massage parlors. Then my last day stayed at villa, knn nothing to see nearby.
