Anyone who got it, how is it for heart rate tracking? Using a charge HR 2. Thinking of upgrading to the gear sport.. or is it downgrading?

Would you get the gear sport over a fitbit ionic? Or the other way round?

Charge 2 for economic reasons. Gear fit pro if you are into features and seamless sync of music and sports data..

If I have the money I'll go for gear fit pro though..

Gear sport supports Samsung pay but fitbit does not. Fitbit is more of a fitness tracker while gear sport is marketed as watch..

I would say gear sport is fitbit ionic equivalent..

I see. So sports performance for gear sports and gear fit pro should be the same. Only difference is the price and form factor?

think more app supported for Gear Sports since it's the same with Gear S2 & S3.

Ok got my watch hehe.. not bad.. but there is a slight learning curve as compared to AW and Fitbit. No interval timer though ..

Anyway does anyone does gym? The "other" exercise don't seem to track heart rate.

I jump into Apple Watch gadget also learning curve mah.. make sure the watch is snugly stuck onto your skin for best heart rate tracking..

I was in this position a few months ago.
I completely gave up on FitBit as their support for their existing devices is so bad. Untill today, they have not fixed the multiplpe sync issues and battery drain with the Samsung S8. Something to do with Bluetooth 5.0. They released a new watch which costs significantly more than what others are offering.

I straight away got the Samsung Gear S3 and I have never been happier. Everything JUST WORKS. And Battery life is about 3 days based on my usage. Probably can hit 5 days if you are light user and do not push many notifications to the watch. And the Gear S3 integrates well into myfitnesspal with tons of features more than the newly released Ionic.

Suggest you look at the S3 or newly released Sport (if you need waterproofing, go for this). Don't trust FitBit anymore.

Gear sport is awesome!

They even show cadence which fitbit do not. However I wish they would have the V02 max. I think their s7 and s8 sensor can detect them.

I got one issue. After stopping an exercise, it will take a while(10-15 mins) before the watch can detect heart rate again. I opened the heart rate app but it just shows "measuring" for the longest time. Not sure if anyone has this issue?

Another issue is that fitness pal doesn't sync the Marco properly.. like it shows 120g protein in fitness pal then 50g in Samsung health.. ai go.
