How many times can I use my Win 8 Pro key for activation

Just want to ask how many times I can use my key. I installed the first time on a different hard drive just to test it out a bit first. Now I want to install it on the main drive that I am currently using my windows 7 on. Both these drives are on the same computer, only that when I first install windows 8 I unplugged my win7 main drive. Can I still activate win8 using the same key after I install on the main drive?

I've read that one key is valid on only one computer and I should "deactivate" the old win 8 first if I want to use the key on another computer. The problem is I have no idea how to do that. I've tried searching for answers but no one seems sure how many times a key can be used to activate. Hope some one can help me here.

I believe it is unlimited. Any problem just call MS. They will deactivate your old key and give you a new one. MS has been really friendly on activation calls since XP days, etc. As long your original key is legit you can be sure it can be used forever but only on one machine at a time.

Thanks for your info. Just curious, how do they deactivate your old 'system' and transfer the license to a new system.

I have not experienced it myself but from what I read they will make your current product key redundant and give you a new key.

Confirmed, Microsoft Support was always helpful on activation to me.
