how did u format? using the windows prompt?

meaning yr hdd was blank with no prior windows installation?

Then it is good news 2GB. The site is reviewing a retail upgrade copy (physical box), not from this upgrade program.

This upgrade program maybe really giving a full Windows 8 Pro key. Even the receipt never say "Windows 8 Pro Upgrade", it just says "Windows 8 Pro".

They won't ask for what OS you using one. OR just do a search for any brand pc and key the model number in. Mine is a diy set, just input some dell smlj desktop pc and got the code too.

reboot system & boot using the dvd
load the windows setup screen
deleted partition & format my primary drive
install windows 8 & activated it

hmm questions:

i haf been using win8 for 3 mths (i hate it and to shutdown need extra clicks) .... and its really not suitable for non-touchscreen crap ...

but anyway i am stuck with an unactivated copy .... may i noe .. if this download provide me the activation key?

yes correct. media center key is free. but u hav to redeem thru ur windows 8 pro

i'm not too sure.. i think it will detect yr previous OS... and determine that yrs is an "upgrade" so it will work.

but from a blank hdd with nothing to detect.. it might not work.
so far haven't see anyone that tested this..

boxed version doesn't activate..
but for this downloaded one.. so far no reports

actually teach u all a small trick. if ur coy got those pc that comes with windows 7 COA tag on the pc with serial number, but is downgraded to windows xp. copy it down and u might be able to use on ur own pc.
