Have a question asked by my new student who is taking intensive classes.

Before i answer the question, i throw to the floor first.

Question:
Tanakaさんは 明日 勉強しますか。

Why can`t the answer be 「いいえ、そうじゃありません。」

My guess only... Because the topic in the sentence is Tanaka san, the そう in the reply refers to Tanaka san and not 勉強します hence it is incorrect?

勉強します = verb
じゃありません is for use with Noun
Since the question is asking if Tanaka-san is studying or not which is an action so cannot use じゃありません. :D

Not sure if the prices for electronic dictionaries are controlled prices in Tokyo. If no, where can I get the best price?

my try using the point of view from basic level:
the questions is asking しますか?
so you have to answer either します or しません

and:
勉強しますか-> is an action
そうじゃありません-> is not an action
so it's not answering the questions
