Many thanks zreo :)

Could you recommend me the RAM (16vs32) and ODD as well?
Would'nt mind going a little above budget for it.

Lastly, possible to recommend a screen that would be good with the GTX 1080, budget $500?

paiseh forget to add ram in =:p
well im not sure how heavy u are using for photoshop, but 16GB is enough, if u willing to throwing more is up to u.

As for ODD, do u need a blueray type or dvdrw kind? blueray im not sure, but dvdrw u can get asus @25 same shop.

well as for ur usage, u can consider these 2:

Dell UltraSharp 24 InfinityEdge Monitor | U2417H
Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor – U2415

Within 2k if possible? And Just for CPU alone, no need other stuff like speakers, monitor, etc. will pair with oculus, not vive so not too concerned hehe. You have any idea when gtx 1060 may be available?

ya 2k should be more than enough for a VR build. and GTX 1060 will be available on the 19th July, which is 2 days later.

so if u want a build with GTX 1070 or GTX 1060?

GPU is easy to choose.... 1070 or 1080 depends on your budget and needs. But a MB have almost same function, at about the same price. therefore need some recommendation on a non OC gaming MB.

As for monitors, there is dell, asus, acer, etc to from. I looking at PG279Q and U2715.

den what is ur budget for ur MB?

as for the monitor options u going for seems like one is for gaming and one is just normal usage. well base on your usage, u can even consider acer x27 model (well cant rmb which one is the latest one =:p) but of cs asus is definitely higher refresh rates den acer ( 165 vs 144 )

Hi all,

I like to build a 4k video editing rig. But i wil need a motherboard, processor, graphics card, power supply and casing. I plan to reuse the ram and SSD and harddisk from my previous rig.

My budget is around 1200. I'm looking at zotac or palit 1070 gtx and intel i6600k. Can anyone recommend me a compatible motherboard, power supply and casing? No need to overclock.

And if anyone knows the difference between zotac and palit? which is better?

Thanks!

well personally i have not edit a 4K video b4, but i definitely still think u are better of just getting a normal i7 instead of a OC i5 chip since u are not going to OC. den again with your budget its kinda hard to

if u can maybe increase like around 1.5~1.6k?
but if really cant, im gonna skimp on the mobo and psu and casing to fit. anyway base on ur budget i think palit will be the best choice since its the cheapest among all aib board.

I think i can increase by 100-200 ?

From the reviews, i notice that 1070 actually perform abit better than 980ti? is it recommended to get 980ti since is cheaper now.

May i know what is the difference between a good mobo and a lower end mobo? From what i saw from from fuwell and pctheme pricelist, both can fit in the normal i7. I tired finding the reviews but dont really understand the technical terms.

For the casing, as long as the psu, motherboard and graphics card can fit in, that's fine.

well yes GTX 1070 is actually on par with 980ti, but in terms of pricing, i still think it isnt that cheaper for some shop, unless u dun mind looking at the IT gauge for any reseller for 980ti at cheaper price.

well we wont say good mobo and lower end, for ur case u mean good mobo by mid range mobo right? anyway basically its the features on the board. a lower end mobo provides lesser features than those in mid range and high end. but im not sure what other features u need or not cos photoshop still quite a heavy tasker, beside that u are doing 4k some more.

anyway we can slap i7 to any board as well, its just that whether it justify ur money to the item u purchase.:o

saw on lazada that zotac 980ti 6gb amp is 599. i think is 100 cheaper than zotac 1070. i guess just basic features? cause i rarely game. can support up to 32 or 64gb is good enough. don't plan to SLI. need wireless support. Is there other features required ?

someone just pm me that he selling his Superflower leadtek 550watt 90+ silver rated psu for 95. is it a good buy? he just used it for 5 hours.
