Guees what.. in 3 days MOOK will be held at MBS.
should've been a bit more patient -.-
Are the AAW prices slashed 'generously' at MOOK?
coz I've never went to one, just saw posts from the Indo MOOK and the deals was quite good.

So fast? Actl, how to know whether it fits or not? Cos the last ciem I had, the isolation seems worse than those foam tips.

isolation was good for me, but i had imbalanced bass.

Sent it in for checking but they told me the drivers checked out fine, was fiddling around with the IEMs while i was in my ears and discovered that the bass shifted if i tilt my head back...so i had my impressions done again outside and sent it back in to do a reshell lor...

Did the reshell help? I've had this issue with all my CIEMS (JH13, Miracle, Music Two and Heir 8.a). All different manufacturers and impressions were done on different occasions for each of them.

Quoting John Moulton from Noble when I asked about this,

"That is normal, as the ear canal will change shape with head, neck movement, position changes etc. Not to sound simplistic, but if u have a water balloon and place it on a table, it changes shape. When u lay down, your tissues, muscle mass, and even fat, will change shape.... (and due to the fact that your ear canal is connected to your body, the ear canal will change shape as well). The only sollution would be to have ear mold impressions taken while laying down.... then when you sit up, your jaw would sit in a different position, and then your ear canal would change shape.... and you would lose your seal all over again. "

Hi Guys,

Sorry to bring up this old thread. I am totally new to these audio equipment. I previously use a Shure SE215 and is happy with it and hope to go further from here. My Shure SE215 is failing on me after like 2 ears. The left side is going on and off, changed cables and seems to be still the same. AWW seems to be pretty affordable for a custom IEM. I am consider AWW because of the beautiful aesthetic CIEM can provide and hope to get a reasonable sound from it under the budge of maybe $350/-

I am a really casual listener and uses this more for commute, (not for stage or music production). I then to prioritize clarity over bass (bass is good just not overly deep or punchy) hope to see something balance like i say SE215 fits for me. I want to ask the pros here what do you all think of the aww so far. I am looking at A1D or A2H which falls under my budget.

I know many would say that the sound is subjective and different from individuals but would like to hear some inputs from your experiences from AWW be it service, build quality, sound quality while I do my research on this. I will visit a store to listen to them when I have some time.

I do not use an amp for my music if that matters. Other recommendations even if it is not custom is welcome.

Yes, audition CIEMs as much as possible. Reviews and impressions are great but they are nothing compared to your own personal preferences.

AAW has amazing build quality though they relegate most of their customer service to Null Audio and Jaben. The few times that I interacted with the company themselves they were rather standoffish and sometimes straight-out ignore my messages.

Also, recently their lead time took a cliff dive to 11-14 weeks due to the recent Massdrop events that they participated in. High volume = queue traffic jam, whacha gon do...

I heard the A1D, A2H and currently own the A3H and W500 AHMorph. I personally hate the A2H as it has barely any treble extension and sounds really congested and almost muddy. I even prefer the A1D over it. The A3H on the other hand is on a different level compared to the other two, especially on the mids and vocal aspect. You'll just have to try it yourself to get a good sense of things.

For your budget of $350, i would rather you get a 2nd hand Shure Se535 which gives you the low,mid and highs drivers. You have the options to reshell or add more drivers in future. Your current budget only allows you to get the dual drivers which is kinda in mid of nowhere. I have been using my se535 since 2010 which the sound quality still sound like the day i first bought it,i recently reshell with AAW due to crack on the original shell and save cost on buying comply foams. Get a hi-res DAP with high quality FLACs, you can do away with amps.

Quick question, does any of the CIEMs in AAW's inventory have a sound sig which is on the brighter side of neutral? Or do I have to look elsewhere for this? :(

You'll probably want to look at Jomo for a treble tilt. AAW specialises more in low-end performance.
