Question on starhub IPTV connection?

Hi guys.

I just signed up for starhub IPTV.
Already have an existing switch for my internet.

However, installer said better to use a separate switch. 1 for internet and 1 for IPTV.

Is this true? I cannot use both internet and IPTV in the same switch?

Starhub IPTV is using Port 2 of the ONT.

Port 1 is for Broadband.

They do provide free RJ45 CAT6 cabling from ONT to TV if your ONT is far from your TV.

needs to be smart or managed switch with vlan tagging. can you say why you need a switch?

Ohh. Ok.
Cos I have 2 tv boxes. Needs total 2 ports for IPTV.

However. I currently have a 8port switch for internet already. Just dun like the idea of yet another switch.
