I saw Digi Prepaid Best looks reasonable in terms of price.
Add on for "Internet Plan" looks good as well

What about the validity?

Can we get it in Johor Bahru?

Thank you

5. SIM Card Lifecycle
Upon activation of a SIM card, the status of SIM card will be updated to Active state that will last for a 30-day period. Active state means a Subscriber is allowed to make outgoing and incoming calls or SMS or any type of services including Internet access.
If there is no reload activities performed after the Active state and with credit balance available in the SIM card, then a Subscriber will not be able to use any Digi services, but is able to receive incoming calls and SMS.
If during the Active state but before end of Active state validity period, a Subscriber has utilized all the credit balance, then a Subscriber will not be able to use any Digi services, but is able to receive incoming calls and SMS.
Number of days given to a Subscriber to receive incoming calls and SMS is 75 days upon expiry of Active state validity period, but no outgoing transactions are allowed unless reload is performed.
Upon reaching 75 days validity period, if there is still no reload activities performed, the status of SIM card will be changed to Suspended (R2) whereby a Subscriber will not be allowed to receive incoming or outgoing calls or SMS except for automated SMS from Digi.
Upon the following day of the Suspended state, the status of the SIM card will be changed to Terminated state and a Subscriber will not be able to obtain back the mobile number or any remaining credit balance or freebies in the SIM card.

There's a DiGi dealer booth in JB Sentral... somewhere on the right of 7-Eleven further down towards the KTM hall, along the row of carts on the left. Someone got his from them for RM10. Was told the stand in JB CIQ (right after customs clearance) charges RM20, but don't know DiGi Best or Live.

Thanks
What RM30 consists of?

Those over RM30 normally come with a monthly data package, something that most of us don't need for a couple of days' stay.

Note: If there's a monthly plan already included, chances are it'll auto-renew the following month so you'll have to cancel the subscription before that.

So there must be a top up within every 105 (30 + 75) days to retain the number?

What's the minimum amount for every top up?

Where's the RM10 and RM20 place?
Somewhere near the Starbucks, Roti Boy area?

Thank you

Done so via app?

Malaysia SIM allows tethering?

If so, I don't need to take out the SIM on my phone

No need RM30.

You can top up RM5 for every 80 day (5+75days) OR top up RM10 for every 85 days (10+75days) to keep the line; please note that the 75 days is the grace period which means the line is under passive mode, the line will active once you do a top up.

it seems that you paid rm10 for the new sim card, which normally retails for rm8 and comes with rm5 credit. you spent another rm20 to reload the card and purchased the weekly 500mb plan that costed rm9.

the rm9 weekly plan is recurring so after 4 days another rm9 will be deducted from your balance.

http://new.digi.com.my/prepaid-addons#Internet-Plans

the reload might be done in 2 steps, i.e. rm5 + rm15, because now digi has a promotion that give 2gb free weekend data for rm15 reload and you has it :)

if i were you i would spend rm1 to get the 300mb pokemon daily plan and then redeem 200mb free data for every rm1 use. in other words, 500mb for every rm1. cheap?

AFAIK, you can retain the Digi prepaid number for a long time at a low cost.

In theory... just spending RM5 is sufficient to retain the Digi Prepaid SIM for MORE THAN 1 year.

Let's start by assuming that currently:

- You have a Digi prepaid SIM card which is ALREADY in grace/passive period AND currently the Digi prepaid SIM card balance is RM0.

To retain the Digi prepaid number for a LONG TIME at minimum cost -- we start by topping up RM5 to the Digi prepaid SIM card:

05 days (Top up RM5 will get 5 days active period; Balance: RM0 + RM5 = RM5)
75 days (Balance: RM5; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM5 - RM1 = RM4)
75 days (Balance: RM4; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM4 - RM1 = RM3)
75 days (Balance: RM3; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM3 - RM1 = RM2)
75 days (Balance: RM2; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM2 - RM1 = RM1)
75 days (Balance: RM1; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM1 - RM1 = RM0)
75 days (Balance: RM0; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

===============
460days in TOTAL !!

By doing the above, I've shown that by spending JUST RM5...

You can retain/keep your Digi prepaid SIM number for 460days (MORE THAN 15 months !!) -- WITHOUT the need to do any top up during this 460days.

Above is assuming that:

- You always remember to pay RM1 to buy 1day active period via USSD *128# just before the end of each 75days grace/passive period.
- No outgoing calls & no outgoing SMS are sent during any active periods.

If in Malaysia, you can even use mobile data on the Digi Prepaid SIM card during any active period WITHOUT money deducted from the Digi prepaid balance -- BECAUSE current version of Digi Best/Live prepaid SIM cards come with FREE (64kbps) basic Internet !!

You can of course REPEAT the above cycle EVERY 460days.

If you understand the above info -- GOOD for you.
If you don't understand the above info, just ignore this post.

Hope the above helps.

75 days (Balance: RM3; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM3 - RM1 = RM2)
75 days (Balance: RM2; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM2 - RM1 = RM1)
75 days (Balance: RM1; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)

01 days (Pay RM1 to get 1day active period via USSD *128# Balance: RM1 - RM1 = RM0)
75 days (Balance: RM0; 75days grace/passive period after active period ends)
