If no customer reviews, is there any specifications I should take note of? I see the price difference from $130 to $170 quite a bit leh.

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

See shop reputation, how many stars etc? Some of them selling at qoo10 also, but remember its white box not black one. black one i think the specs lower i think. And also better to buy those with 1 year warranty.

Curious. The live app works permanently, or also dependant if the company server works long enough before any authority clamps it?

Who knows?

Maybe you can go inform the relevant authorities about the Unblock TV box's Live TV service.

One of my friend has an Unblock TV box -- and my friend has already used it 2+ (or 3) years.

Up to now everyday, there are still people buying new Unblock TV boxes, either:

(1) First time buyers OR
(2) Those buying a newer version of Unblock TV box to replace an older version.

So how many years or how long does any authority needs to take -- to so called "clamps it"?

For those interested, qoo10 seller ziming global is running an auction for unblock gen 3 box. Auction type is instant draw which means you pay a fixed price of $129 if you apply and win one of the slots. I won one of the slots but contemplating whether to complete the purchase. Have prior experience buying from this seller and they are not very trustworthy. They claim their stock is the newer gen 3 box with built-in bluetooth but they are offering only 6 months warranty instead of the usual 1 year for authorised local resellers. Potential buyers do take note and decide accordingly.

I bought this $129 unblock gen 3 ubox from sls #03-18 through qoo10, they said software was not installed, you have to open the UB market to install yourself, if you get them install, they charge another $30.

I have installed all the apps in UB market and the ubox is working fine.

Hey, do you have the direct link to Qoo10 for this? I look thru Qoo10, all selling at 178$-188$ :s22:

Thanks. May I ask Is it difficult to install the ubtv? I assume the ub market comes with the set? So once u install is ready to go? No password or anything?

Is it not difficult to install the ubtv, just install all the apps in UBmarket.
No password needed.

Ended up pulling the trigger and getting myself 1 set of ubox gen3 from the qoo10 auction. Abit of a impulse buy as i already own a xiaomi tv box. To my disappointment, the ubox while supporting 4k resolution and some form of 4k video playback, is not able to hardware decode 10bit video files at all. This means i have to keep my xiaomi box and use both concurrently, ubox for its live tv app and xiaomi box for playing of multimedia files. Overall, the ubox is sluggish in use compared to my xiaomi box(1gb ram vs 2gb ram, 32bit soc vs 64bit soc). Also, for whatever unknown reasons, the ubox refuses to recognize or read 2 out of 4 external harddisks i tested on it. Lastly, the ubox remote is a total pain in the butt to use and luckily i have my own airmouse which saved me a lot of pain and hassle. Overall, i say buy the ubox, if only for the built-in live tv and streaming apps. Do not buy it if you want a box which can also double-up as a strong multimedia playback device.

LOL $30 charge from the shop when all it takes is just literally 5-6 button clicks from turning on the box to installing the ub market and apps. So good to earn ar:s13:. Anyway $129 is really far and away the cheapest price you can find anywhere for a gen3 box. Unblock themselves have controlled the price at $178 and above for their authorized resellers and i have seen some chop head neighbourhood shops selling at $200+ a set.

Any recommendation on Korean Drama with eng subtitles?

On my TV box, I use a browser & go to any of the following sites:

(1) Box Asian -- http://boxasian.com/
(2) DramaCool -- http://dramacools.io/
(3) Drama Nice -- http://dramanices.com/
(4) Drama4U -- http://www.drama4u.org/
(5) HDFree -- http://hdfree.se/
(6) ICDrama -- http://icdrama.se/
(7) KissAsian -- http://kissasian.com/
(8) MyAsianTV -- http://myasiantv.se/
(9) NewAsianTV -- http://newasiantv.me/
(10) Viki -- https://www.viki.com/
(11) WatchMe -- http://watchme.asia/
(12) XMovies8 -- https://xmovies8.ru/country/south-korea

Plus many more sites !! (too many to list here)

Most above sites also have dramas from various other countries & also have movies (not just have Korean drama)

If a drama I want to watch can't be found in one particular Web site, I'll go to a 2nd (or 3rd) Web site to search & watch.

Of course you can go to the above sites to watch Korean drama either on your computer or on your TV box.

On computer, to visit any Web site, we use a browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome etc.)
-- on computer, I also use ad-blockers in browsers to filter out ads when accessing above drama Web sites.

Same on TV box, you just need a browser to go to any of above sites to watch drama -- most browsers will work.

Personally, I use a very (small size) simple browser app that you can get from Google Playstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fevdev.nakedbrowser

Above browser app is only 120KB in size !! (yes, 120KB)

You may need to plug-in a mouse (or air mouse) to the TV box to make it (much) easier to use browser on the TV box to visit Web sites.

This small browser app is what I use on my TV box -- to allow me to watch (endless) various dramas/movies from most of the above listed sites.

I don't depend on apps like Viu to watch Korean drama.

Hope the above helps.

The other way is to use apps, rss player and rss media reader are good, these apps grab the shows from the above sites.

rss player
https://www.facebook.com/groups/newtvboxsg/permalink/159181077763432/

rss media reader
https://www.facebook.com/groups/newtvboxsg/permalink/396409470707257/

need to key in a couple of urls during setup, read the posts and the comments for the instructions.

$129 (+4.50 deliv) export set with 6mos warranty is not bad at all. Other seller is at $149 (free deliv) with 1year warranty. I guess the difference ($15.5) caters for the remaining 6mos warranty.
