Reading from this thread
"outside shop" = $300
Samsung price = $336 (if managed to get discount)

for $36 difference, why go "outside shop" ???

Imo it's Design flaw, they do test in control envirnoment, real life really cmi. They should use 8 pt drops test too on various surface like the batt, samsung juz want consumer to accept the flaw and move on.

No point going to Samsung for cracked screen. My friend changed the screen some where in Manila at 3rd party shop for less than SGD$100 a month ago and still works good without any issue and he couldn't* feel any difference.
Where in manila? I would really like to know.. thanks!

Which case are you guys using now after repairing the screen?

Just repaired mine and am quite paranoid about handling the phone now.

UAG. Spigen tough armor or otterbox. Been using it for many years never once I break my phone screen.

Of cos if u drop on a rock or uneven surface if it lands on the screen 1st. No amount of casing can protect.

Look for good corner protection and high raise lips.

you ownself expect the durability based on the name gorilla.. :D there's no other glass better than the test record of gorilla company liao, even if there is, will you buy a phone that is more expensive due to durability of glass or the functionality of the phone?

Ok noob question. My phone has a hairline crack and is still under warranty till September. All is working fine but worried if i cant use it to trade in or sell it llater. Will it be cheaper to repair since its still under warranty? Or just leave it be?

I just replaced my S7 cracked screen 3 days ago at JB KSL.
around RM $300 no need to buy air ticket to Philippines lah.
I went to those booths hp repair shop and they even provided me with a 3 months repair warranty.

Try to ask a few booths around level 2 and 3. Dont go to those shops units. One of the big shop quoted me RM$800. Knn for a moment... I thought I went to a carrot head shop lor

Both my S7 edge had cracked screen (long story). I've read all 6 pages of this thread and nothing being mentioned that waterproofing (IP rating) is lost when you use 3rd party.

I've asked almost every 3rd party repair shop in both SG and MY (KL/JB) and all their responses are consistent - they're slightly cheaper than Samsung BUT the phone will lose its IP68 rating. The more honest shops explained to me that only Samsung has the glue/technology to reseal the phone.

s7 is easy to repair by 3rd party shops but s7 edge is a challenge. Samsung deliberately is selling the s7 edge screen at a very high price so these shops have to charge high too.

Hate Samsung for all these, recently paid for cracked back, during note 1 to 3 it was not a common issue, use to drop those but won't crack as easily as those recent full glass model that seem to be the way it moving towards with future models@ the customer expense. Even if enage in 3rd party shop, the glass will have scratches after removing the glass assembly.

You sibei jialat. Buy phone knowing what is the construction then your own folly butter fingers drop phone then u can blame samsung. Really roll eyes.
