UPDATE (25/05/2017):
Xiaomi has just unveiled the successor to the successful Mi Max today, say hi to the Mi Max 2!

Mi Max 2 features an improved design, with a full metal unibody design with the antenna bands designed discreetly at the edges for a more seamless metal back. It’s also more improved for one-handed usage too.

Mi Max 2 features a huge 5300mAh battery, which is able to last for at least two days under a heavy usage(refer to second pic below)! Charging the Mi Max 2 is a quick affair too, with QuickCharge 3.0 it will charge the Max 2 up to 68% in just an hour.

Mi Max 2 features a flagship Sony IMX386 image sensor for its rear camera! It’s the same sensor found on the Mi 6 too. It features a large pixel size of 1.25μm, enabling more light in the photo.

it's okay as long as the processor is power efficient. looking forward to it, and it's first firmware.

Looking forward for its 6gb though. Tiagong it will be sd660. If really ish sd660, will get it later part after price stable down ba as it have a tendency of overpriced. As well as the firmware stablization.

There's rumors saying there will be a SD660 Max 2, but won't be available now as SD660 hasn't undergo mass production yet.

off topic, there's not much difference between a normal and a prime model.
unless you want to utilize two SIM cards at the same time while you have 60gb worth of files.
if not, don't waste the money. might as well save up for the rumored Max 2.

Anyway do you guys think RAM matters? Now that Xiaomi is coming up with 4GB-6GB RAM phones.

Does any existing app/game really need more than 3GB?

Discussing this so we all can have a better judgment which to buy when MiMax2 comes out.

my wife says no difference as she was using 3GB variant previously. we changed to the prime model as I got it cheap at $571 for two sets, BNIB.
if not because of my other SIM card, I'd have just stick to using 32gb model.
abit regret getting one set for my wife as 128gb storage is overkill for her.
