Why not take a train to nearest place near your hotel and take uber instead?

Where exactly is the hotel? Some other options are available, but we would need to know where the hotel is.

I'm not a fan of the shuttle bus. They take everyone and can do plenty of loops around the cbd. If you're one of the last ones to get dropped off, it would take so long that you wished you had taken the train and walked.

You can also get uber from the airport, if you don't mind paying for it.

If not in hurry, can take the shuttle bus as city tour to enjoy the sceneries, buildings and peoples on the street.

Airport to Central only take about 15 mins by train. U can compare the fare to decide. Uber I think quite ex. No Uberpool there.

Just checked. The train fare is $17/each. Uber is about $24. Guess Uber is more worth it then

For 5 pax, keep in mind that you will need 2 cabs/ubers. Having said that, it is still better than paying $90 just to get a train, and almost $100 to get a shuttle bus.

Unless there is train trackwork that weekend, and they have replacement buses. In theory, you're supposed to pay for it, but in practice, it's free of charge. :s13:

If you're in a hurry, the train will get you there the quickest.

If you have time, you can consider getting bus 400 to Rockdale station (less walking), or Mascot station (5-10 mins walk). Trains to the city are significantly cheaper from these stations. If you're a really good walker and adventurous, try walking to Wolli Creek station. Takes about 30mins, and the train to the city is no more than $4.10 each. And that is still faster than a shuttle bus that's caught in traffic and isn't dropping you off first.

Yes, Uber is the best way to travel in convenience. An Uber from the International Airport to the CBD would set you back AUD30 per vehicle, which is really a steal considering that the airport express already costs AUD17+ per person. The Uber pick up point is at the public pick-up and drop off point (have to walk through the MSCP to get there).

Singapore has Grab, Gojek, Tada and Ryde.
What does Sydney have beside Uber?
