When you apply for these job.
Check with the company the terms and condition such as how long is the bond period and if there can fulfill the promise of providing training or just give on the job (OJT) only. The purpose of companies enrolling in these is to help them to save cost in the long run because government will be the one sponsoring part of the salary for the first xxx months.

Just get some info from someone in this CSAT programme.

Total 18 month bond

1.Training provided but mostly introduction course.

2.OJT depends your luck. Some department senior will teach but some just let you swim yourself.

3. If you break your Bond total damage : Your OJT 6 month Salary + Training fee around 5 figure pro-rated by 12 month.

Do they accept fellows with no cyber security experience?

Ya they did .

The Associates track:

Caters to fresh ICT and engineering professionals (0 – 3 years of working experience)
Programme duration of up to 12 months

But also depends on the hiring manager . They take this people because of government fund . Don't expect people will really train you .

Have a friend in CSAT with Singtel/NCS

You will have to attend a bunch of courses such as,

Cyber Security Fundamental – Intro
Understanding CISSP
CISA/CISM/CRISC Intro
Vulnerability Assessor
Professional Ethical Hacker
Incident Handling
Technology Tools - Rapid 7
Technology Tools – Blue Coat
Technology Tools – Palo Alto
Technology Tools – Trend Micro
Certified EC-Council Ethical Hacker
Certified EC-Council Incident Handling

Heard that mostly introduction course. Thanks for sharing !

Hi all,

It really depends on the department posted to.
If you are on operation roles, highly likely it is 24/7.
However if you are doing development or pentest, it is just a 9-6pm job.
And yes, fresh graduate without experience are accepted.
Go and google the IDA CLT programme, it has history ties to the CSAT programme.

whichever companies you are considering, try to find out more from friends or anyone in there. Some places take you in but don't give you proper training except to use you to do sai kang

Ya.Just check with friends. They give you attend a few introduction course then expect you can resolve all issue .

haha.. that's to be expected from the way government is pushing these courses and programmes..

that's why some ppl always say experience still more important than whatever courses you go for.. courses only help in getting the basic knowledge (like what stands for what etc) but doesn't help in troubleshooting and problem solving

too bad they want oscp first then they accept u...have to look at other big 4 coys le

haiz its a chicken and egg thing :(

then go get oscp. oscp is like entry cert into pentesting to be honest. these days most company require their fresh grad to get oscp within 3-6 months after joining. or keep trying with other companies.
