Noob question.

I know in the Ipad ecoystem, Ipad need a main computer with iTunes to function. Seems you can't even get pass the initial setup screen until you plug the Ipad to iTunes on another system.

What about Ipad Pro? Can it be used like Android tablets on its own?

You don't need to have iTunes or even a computer to use iPad.

Ever since iOS 5 update, you don't need a computer or iTunes to activate iPad/iPhone/iPod touch.

You can set up right out of the box without having to connect to a PC.

At any point of it's life, you'll still need a computer to backup should u run into issues. It can't be totally independent like android tablets which u can backup to microsd card..

you can backup to iCloud 5GB if you have 1 idevice, its more than enough. However, if you have more than 2 idevice, confirm not enough for 5GB

hmm even Samsung's own FAQ says not all app data can be backup n restored. also couple of threads on xda say it doesn't backup n restore everything. looks like rooting is e only solution...

Hi experts,

Question to those who fits the following scenario:

Say the new Ipad/Pro (wifi only) is the one and only device in the house (android phone not counted :p), and there's no other laptop or desktop.

Usage is basic - web surfing, emails, some basic documents/spreadsheet editing, no games......optional is citrix into company's servers for some basic work.

Other than the keyboard (and maybe stylus), what other items do you have in the whole setup to make things work?

TIA!

Bluetooth speakers. Pair your device to it and play content from Apple Music and/or playing YouTube picture-in-picture while doing your tasks. (YouTube app not supported, copy link to a website that converts it)
