FYI guys UHD disc are available at Poh Kim.
However these UHD look like local version not US.
I only saw Batman VS Superman and Suicide Squad UHD only.
Have send a enquiry whether will there be more titles coming or not.

Those with 4K TV, time to tap on full potential of your TV.
Other than using streaming services/__________ 4K contents.
Price wise rather pricey at $59.90.

Poh Kim have shared with me that there will be more 4K UHD disc coming.
They are made in Germany but intended for Asian market which
means playable.

How much is Poh Kim selling?

I have been buying 4K discs from Amazon, each time I accumulate to USD125 to get free shipping. Average per disc is USD25-USD30.

After watching, I will put them up for sale.

$49.90-$59.90,really steep pricing.
Now their UHD disc copy US version does come with Blu ray disc but no digital copy.

Recently found out that Samsung has released 2 4K players in Singapore:

http://www.samsung.com/sg/audio-video/blu-ray-dvd-player/?ultra-hd-blu-ray-player

Has anyone bought and played with either model?

Last I checked, Parisilk is selling the m8500 at $480.

Given the limited UHD players, can't really have high expectations.
Samsung one according to whathifi is so so performance.
Panasonic one, never seen it yet.
Sony wise, despite their UHD have good review.
Sony SG seems unlikely to bring it in.
OPPO have one UHD but that will cost you one thousand plus.

Lg $599. 4 star Dolby vision possible
Panasonic $699 from Amazon U.K. 5 star (no SG unit)

Just sharing some update:

1) 4K Ultra HD Blu ray
You can either buy from Poh Kim rather expensive at $49.90
which comes with standard Blu ray.
Or can rent from Rida Video Centre Coronation Shopping Plaza.
For those taking MRT, nearest is Botanic Garden.

For Rida they do sell both 4K Ultra HD
as well as rental. Really a lot of 4K Utra HD from US while some
are local 4K.

Any title you need if they don't have, they can bring it in for you.
Do support original disc.

2) 4K Bluray players in SG
LG - $499
Samsung - $499
Oppo - $1K (Have not confirm)

Confirmed absent from SG market,
Panasonic THX certified 4K Ultra HD Blu ray.
Sony UBP-X800 many have actually requested for it but
Sony SG turned down.

Why? Probably due to SG market trend of either streaming/downloading
video/movies that is why they won't bring in it.
Demand for Physical disc isn't there, that is why even for Sony TV bundle
with PS4 instead of blu ray players.

Twice I have check with them but they just turned down the request.
Thus for those including myself, best to get from Amazon US.
However take note of US voltage is 120v, this model it doesn't have
universal power.

Thus you will to get a 100 watt 240V to 120 V step down transformer in order to use UBP-X800 from US. I also wish to get locally but
probably due to market trend that is why they don't do it.

I just check x800 only 250usd with shipping, so quite interested, as long no regional lock, I'm good

What abt buying it from Japan direct? Can use in Singapore right

Japan one is 100 volt thus you need a 240v to 100v stepdown transformer.
Gosh feel like setting up a petition or letter of demand for
Sony SG to bring this instead.

Since there is actually demand for it.
Why Sony? Why.
Those in favour of this, let me know.
