usually for the esaver interest promos, historically did they start on 1st of the month? becaus i'll be out of the country across the crossover into the new month, so i want to program automatic fund transfers in from other banks, on the 1st of the month.

Yes. If u do the calculation. Still get around 1.31% so still higher than the rest of the banks

This type of dirty tricks to trap naive, elderly people also can be tolerated. Why the MAS condone such an act? Because they big and powerful, isit?
